The clear sound of hoof beats on stone rang through the thin air. The sound was regular, same as the pattering of raindrops and splashes of water from those soaked pillars. A form slid between boulders, her frame was dim, and though visible was difficult to make out. The swish of her bod as she stepped sent water trickling ever so madly to the ground. Her usual windblown mane now slept limply upon her neck, glossy from the ever constant supply of water. She paused, turning her head to the ever constant billowing clouds above, her heavy forelock plastered to one side of her face. Covering a certain secret that lay dormant beneath scars. The water from above didn’t hesitate as it now began to run along her face in small rivers and streams. Misty clouds floated from quiet nostrils as the mare breathed, her legs quivering slightly as the water continued to fall. Not caring about her silent thoughts. Rain… Her head lowered, grey optic subtle with an unreadable expression. Rain…Her mind whispered yet again, the whistling sound of droplets lost to her ears. Her eye turned earthward, it’s simply beauty following the rivers of wetness, the pools that collected in all the rock, and stone’s crevices. She closed it, steadying her wavering breaths, heart beating fast. With a last plume of mist the mare began to walk again, her head low against the droplets. Her vibrant dun bod was now dark with the rain and her mahogany pillars even darker. With her tail she swiped the stone walls that surrounded her. They where intimidating, how they stretched up so high, some even touching the blue-less sky it seemed. Her steps echoed off the stone she walked upon, slippery and dangerous it was, with the water slipping off it’s surface like it was a river it’s self. Her mind drifted back to nothingness, what was there to think about anyway? What was, what was and now, was now. The future? It would happen.

.x. lost 'til you're found .x.
Hidden from the aqua falling down from the clouds, within a small overhang of the canyon walls stood a buckskin stallion. His breath came slowly, eyelids hovering between open and closed, fighting off oncoming sleep. A sudden noise awoke him, auds swiveling to pinpoint the location. Hoofbeats, echoing clearly in the confined space. Stilts carried him carefully out of his crevice, droplets of heaven's tears splashing on his rainless pelt and tainting his colors dark. He shivered, breaking him out of his trance.
.x. swim 'til you drown .x.
Now awakened more he quickened his pace. The chasm floor was slippery, though by now he knew the area as well as one could. Rain was no stranger to him either, so he felt comfortable with his pace at a swift trot. His steps were careful nonetheless, and his amber pools were now awide with curiousity. Who might this equine be, saundering in his land? It passed through his mind they might be an intruder, but his instincts told him otherwise. They could quite possibly just be looking for a herd.
.x. know that we all fall down .x.
The discoloration of the rain consumed his tall frame, dying his pelt. Spring was the dawn of anew, the rain having a large part in the new grass and vegetation that sprang up. Though it surely made for a dreary day, and he almost wished he was back in the dry again. But he continued onward, not wishing to take any chances. He noticed the stone became noticeably slicker, and he considered slowing down before the orbs of his noticed her shape in the distance.
.x. love 'til you hate .x.
He let out a welcoming bellow in the form of a neigh, his nares already letting him know much about her. For once she was a mare, and of the earth heritage. He couldn't be certain if she meant trouble, though he highly doubted it. Orbs figured her frame to be small, compact. "Hello, I am Karolek, keeper of this land," he greeted her. He said this not in an haughty way, though rather a friendly greeting. An introduction if you must.

Her delicate auds picked up the sound of fast approaching hoot beats. "Who might that be?" She murmured to herself, her voice quiet, holding no obvious emotion. She raised her head, auds turning slowly, one direction then the other. Doing their best to locate the creature with all this echoing stone. She stopped, needing all her concentration to pick up this newcomer’s traits. “A stallion…” She could confirm that by it’s confident and heavy footfall, at least that was the most likely possibility. “And by his confidence with this terrain he must be used to it, an Earth Elemental?“ Her sense of smell was weakened by the falling rain, but she still picked up a faint whiff that confirmed these. The steady beat grew louder, he was close. Her single, silky orb caught his form before he bellowed his welcome. Haunt remained motionless to his greeting though, her mind still working slowly, not slightly fazed at his presence. “He looks powerful, confident. It’s a good chance that he might be…” Haunt raised her head to the sky, slowly mulling things over. It took a moment for her mind to register what to say. She hadn’t spoken to another for a long time. “I’m Haunt” was all she replied, she wasn’t thinking of the way you should talk with a herd stallion. She did however dip her head slightly in respect, mane tumbling forward and eye half closed. For if he wished this horse could easily overpower her. She had never really practiced with her Element when traveling, so she was at a great disadvantage. She remained like this for a moment before returning to her usual stance, and there she stood, watching this stranger horse with a half shut eye. ooc// By the way how do you get you text to go like that? I mean centered but not centered. I know I'm not making much sense sorry <3

.x. lost 'til you're found .x.
Daggers prodded the rock below with swift swipes, then this evolved more from habit then from impatience. Karolek was surprisingly good at keeping his curiosity at bay, awaiting responses while only fidgeting like any equine would, or so he supposed. Vapors left his nares in small streams, signalizing it was actually quite chilly today. Contrary to usual spring weather around here, but he paid that no attention. It really wasn't important at all, while the mare before him was. She seemed to be thinking about what to say, or something of the like as she still hadn't responded yet. But he continued to waited, tears still staining his coat 'til it had consumed his whole bod. He noticed her dun coat was just as tear stained as his was, and he presumed she had been wandering for quite some time already.
.x. swim 'til you drown .x.
"Welcome to Druugroot Haunt," he spoke, watching her give a small dip of her crown for courtesy. He didn't really dwell on that, as he recognized she was only trying to be polite and it didn't mean much to him. He felt piece of his forelock start to slip from it's place, falling over his eye and disturbed his site. By now the unrelenting sheets of water had just drenched his mane to his neck, and as he shook his boa to free his eyesight of his banner it took a good shake to rid it. He decided as of now the rain wasn't really his friend, he didn't think of it as an enemy like those of fire, rather as just a pest. A useful pest, one that would do no good if it disappeared, but a pest nonetheless.
.x. know that we all fall down .x.
"What is your purpose here? Or are you just passing through?" he asked, getting right to the point, choosing not to mince his words. The cold and rain had put him in a foul mood to some extent. He knew he could have chosen his words to sound more polite, and it wasn't like he had said it shortly or rudely. He just couldn't find the energy to make his words sound any more lyrical. He put his lack of words behind him and took in the sight of this Haunt, trying to find her story without asking. He couldn't tell, for he was far from a mind reader and realized he would just have to snap out of his daze and talk. If only they could get out of this rain though...
.x. love 'til you hate .x.
.x. jump 'til you break .x.
.x. know that we all fall down .x. OoC||Naw, you make perfect sense xP. The lyrics are centered, but the rest is just blockquoted. The little arrow that points right between 'tube' and the earth icon. I use five of them I think, though you can use as less or as many as you like ^_^.

Haunt feels like I' ve lived forever...
She ignored the stallion’s tone, not like she really cared anyway. Her single orb slipped across his form slowly, more out of boredom then curiosity. The wind lifted her whipcord with the slightest breath, she could feel the weight of the clinging water upon her tangled black silk. It was awhile again before she spoke, choosing her words with a calm ease. “I’ am no one to worry about” she replied, words cloaked with a quiet emotion. Her bod twisting as she turned her head away from his, searching among the deep canyons of rock for a place to rest without the constant pounding of the rain. All this water was a little more then she could handle as far as, well that was concerned.
She turned her head back slowly to the stallion, her single orb lingering upon his for a mere moment. She wasn’t in the habit of meeting others, and even with her calm state of mind, she was a little uneasy at what could come from any wrong moves. Her tumbling forelock lay plastered to one side of her face, one more secret hidden from the world. Her mind wandered. How many things have I kept from others? How much more?
Her hooves began to move, herself unaware of this action. They rang out clearly in the whistling beads as they carried her in a slow, mindless sort of way. Her head jerked slightly, coming back to her senses and she turned back, delicate auds pricked forward. “Come along if you like. The rain is...” She stopped there, unwilling to say anything more of that sort to another. But she flicked her ears in an inviting sort of way, might as well have some company while sheltering from the rain.

.x. lost 'til you're found .x.
Relieved at her not taking offense at his unintentional harshness he let out a sigh of release that emitted steam out of his maw. He watched her slowly survey him, and he didn't refrain from doing the same to her. She was noticeably smaller then him, though that didn't surprise him much. Very few were, and he didn't even consider himself considerably extravagant in mass. His tassel plastered itself against his hindquarters, a small breeze playing with it though it wasn't enough to stir it more then slightly.
.x. swim 'til you drown .x.
I am no one to worry about, her words played back in his auds as they perked toward Haunt's direction to verify their authenticity. No, he hadn't really thought that once he saw her. He wasn't one to think that mares couldn't hold their own, but he did have a habit of judging ones by their looks and he decided she wasn't an intruder. He just wasn't sure if she was passing through, or searching for a home. He hoped the latter, as even if he was in a noisome mood he still realized company would be nice.
.x. know that we all fall down .x.
Karolek decided not to respond to her lyrics, rather just giving a slight nod. He watched as she started to move, graceful steps ringing out and echoing off the walls that closed them in. Was she looking for a place to hide from the rain? He knew he should have offered earlier, his mind wasn't working as it usually was. He almost laughed as she invited him to follow her out of the watering heavens. He wasn't hurt or angered by her though, he just thought it humorous. He pondered if he should let her go, or show bring her back to the crevice that had sheltered him earlier.
.x. love 'til you hate .x.
Her body language invited him along though, so he supposed he might as well offer to show her the way to his refuge. He walked behind her a few steps, though his moved his stilts faster to make his pace equal to hers. "I know a good place," he informed her, his tone warmer then before. More emotion present, maybe the thought of getting out of the wetness was enough to break him of his mood. He stepped ahead of her, though not far. Just enough to lead the way to his retreat.

Haunt Feels like I' ve lived forever...
Haunt began to walk once again, her orb was half closed. Wheather it was from weariness or the simple lack of interesting things to see she couldn’t tell. This mare had been traveling for a while, that was evident upon her dark mahogany pillars and tossed silky hairs that adorned her neck and rump. Those were silent now as the rain beat them down, refusing to let them blow in the weak wind that stirred the heavy air of the canyons.
From the steps that followed her she knew the stallion was close behind her, though they became quicker as he came up along side her barrel. Her eye followed the stallion as he matched her pace, and she almost missed his words in her daze. “That might be nice..”She replied softly, still slightly lost in her own world. And she watched with a steady gaze as he stepped ahead of her, perhaps leading the way?
Though this stallion was a stranger to her Haunt felt she had nothing to fear. He was kind, and though maybe in a bad mood -who wouldn’t be with this constant weather?- he seemed like a decent horse. Haunt blinked slowly, her hooves slid into rhythm as he kept a close distance ahead. Might as well follow...Her mind told her.

.x. lost 'til you're found .x. The stallion was fascinated as to Haunt's demeanor. He could honestly say he hadn't met a mare as mellow as her, so few words to be told. Though he didn't think that was a bad thing, far from it. Peaceful silentness was always welcome, awkward ones not as much. Thankfully this was of the tranquil kind, though it was far from quiet. The rain was still coming down, smacking against the canyon along with his hide. A comforting sound almost, he thought as he continued his steady pace.
.x. swim 'til you drown .x.
She responded to his words, lyrics flowing out of her maw so smoothly he wondered if she was even from this world. She seemed as if in an angelic daze, where nothing would phase her. He himself was in a trance of sorts, though it wasn't of good nature. He had shook it off by now though, blaming it on lack of sleep the prior night. And the rain, yes the rain. Finally hooves carried him to his sanctuary from the spring rains. It was a small crevice, though it might even be called a cave of sorts. It wasn't large by any means, though it had enough room for two to fit comfortably. Larger overhangs were available, though he took a liking to his place in his kingdom. Hoping she would like it too, he walked within it, instantly comforted by the dryness
.x. know that we all fall down .x.
"I hope you'll be here long enough to see the land without the rain," he offered, an invitation to stay within. He hated the bluntness of asking one to join his herd, so he figured he'd leave it up to her to decipher. If she was just wandering through, he wouldn't complain. But if she was looking for a home, Druugroot would certainly accommodate her. He sidestepped nearer to the wall, leaving her ample space to enter and not be crowded by him. He was still baffled at how she moved so rhythmically, like life had no worries.

Haunt Feels like I' ve lived forever...
Haunt walked behind the stallion quietly as he led the way, she didn’t so much have to watch her step, as her wise hooves found the best places to stand upon. They were now used to her silent, sometimes daze like state and at times seemed like they could move on their own. The pace the stallion set was steady, though not unpleasant, and the constant pounding of the rain against stone and flesh seemed to blank out her mind, and quiet thoughts within. Like a passing storm that left merely harmless blue skies in it’s wake.
Within a time, though Haunt couldn’t think or remember how long it had or could’ve been, and she seemed a little confused when he finally arrived at the place, though she shook that off in less then a moment. Her grey orb took in the details about her with a set expression, witch was that of nothingness it seemed. And when the stallion slipped into the crevice of rock, she followed without hesitation, seeing as the stallion had left plenty of room for her. It was dry here, as expected since that was the reason for her little side trip, and she could feel her muscles instantly relax at it’s warmth. No, it wasn’t physically warm, the stone was quite cool actually but it was better then that blasted rain. The rain that made her ache to the bones at the very sight of it’s silvery beads.
She turned to the stallion, water droplets clinging desperately to her twisted mane as she looked at him. She hadn’t much reason for this, it was just a simple thing to do. Might as well remember the looks of those who treat you well was what her head told her, she did have some strange ways of going about this mare did. She had no sense of embarrassment , or really any extravagant emotion, sure she felt anger, hate, sorrow, pain and at rare times happiness. But she felt little things such as embarrassment and self conscience useless and well, unrewarding in their own sense.
The steady dripping of water upon stone and the two’s breaths was what her auds heard for a mere moment. She turned, whipcord swaying with the movement. “Thank you” she murmured. Though she said nothing about his last lyrics. She gave her coat a soft shake, not wanting to cover one of the only dry areas with the annoying rain, especially a place another had been kind enough to show to her.
Her coat had now begun to dry slightly, reviving her vibrant dun bod, though her pelt was still ragged from her trip through the rain. She set about grooming it slowly, taking her time to do the smallest things, and making sure she didn’t drip onto the stranger stallion. She paused momentarily. He had said his name was Karolek…Her mind whispered to her furiously, though she herself seemed dim to it at first. She turned to him once again, maybe laying her eye on him would help her think.

.x. lost 'til you're found .x.
Karolek himself almost felt himself slowly fall into a daze, though far different then the one before it. He felt himself slip away from the dreary day, far from the rain and cold. It was almost like this mare's presence made him more at ease, for she seemed to not care what he did. He could be a rude brute awoken from a nap and thrown into the world of rain or a considerate stallion showing her the way to a shelter. Either way she seemed indifferent, as if nothing would phase her. This made him more comfortable with her, though he had only known her for mere moments. Moments that passed slowly in primarily silence, but quickly in company nonetheless. So for this reason he let his guard down, relaxed his muscles and took a deep breath. For impressions didn't matter with this fae, and that was something rare Something he should take advantage of, for it didn't come by quite often. He needn't worry, just slip away....
.x. swim 'til you drown .x.
He sighed in quiet contentment, listening to the sound of rain pattering against rock but not skin left a smile on his maw. Little things in life he enjoyed, like now as he noticed Haunt fervently trying to rid herself of the aqua that drenched her coat without splashing him all the same. Thoughtful, polite, maybe she was alive after all? Thoughts carried themselves away to her name, as it rang inside his auds again. Haunt. Was there a reason to that name? Haunting ones in their sleep perhaps? He doubted it, not this femme. But all had their secrets, and some were better at hiding it then others.
.x. know that we all fall down .x.
Silence, it crept upon them again. But the stallion didn't notice, his focus far away in a land of no thoughts. He breathed with only shallow intakes, for he didn't want to disturb the quiet with his heavy breath. It wasn't worth it...maybe he should just stop...He did so for a moment, though he wasn't in control of himself enough to starve himself of the needed substance. The rhythmic action resumed, and he was only brought out of his stale mind when she spoke again. Soft, mellow lyrics barely woke him though, only shifting the direction of his thoughts to her.
.x. love 'til you hate .x.
"You're welcome," he uttered, barely audible though loud in the silence. Oh the noise. Distress visibly evident on his face as he struggled to keep himself in the trance, he just didn't want to wake up. Was he asleep? He felt eyes on him, a foreign feeling to the empty world he thought he was in. Did he have to leave? He snorted involuntarily, and the sound snapped him out of his spell. Eyes widened revealing crazed amber pools, what had happened? His whipcord lashed out at his hindquarters, making sure he was still alive and awake. He felt the familiar sting, welcoming it as proof that his attempts at halting breath had failed.
.x. jump 'til you break .x.
He turned his boa toward Haunt, not bothering to be discreet at his focus of sight. "Who are you?" he asked, though not in an intrusive matter, just blunt. He knew she was Haunt, but who else? For being relaxed was one thing, falling into a haze was not. Though maybe he shouldn't blame the poor mare, rather the sleepless night he had experienced before. Or could this all be a dream? Only time would tell, for everything was so confusing again. So rough. So crude. So realistic.
.x. know that we all fall down .x.
OoC||ugh, I'm really mad at this post. I'm trying to make things interesting, but I think I just made Karo a crazy zombie. Oh well, you go crazy when you're sleep deprived?Right? Dx.

Haunt Feels like I've lived forever...
Haunt barely heard the stallion’s soft reply at her thanks, her constantly changing mind always made it hard for her to hear things. That’s how she had always been, well for as long as she could remember anyway. She stood there now, simply losing herself to the silence, unaware of others in her own slightly, confusing mind. Though if you were to hear with ears you wouldn’t catch the soft flutters or silent calls vibrating throughout the empty expanse within her. She could hardly even feel these anymore, her mind had grown even more distant then before, even more dangerous.
Her orb began to close, it’s silky grace slowly fluttering to darkness as the thing took her. Images of nothingness flashed through her head, though they were as vivid as day, and she could hear the silent calls of voices. Oh so, so many voices. Her own thoughts were unheard in her frenzied nightmare, and a very familiar snapshot flashed her mind. The voices shrieked, grower louder as the image flashed faster and faster. And she knew, she knew what it was even without having to see it.
The sound of another, a snort, crazed eyes flashed through her mind and her head twisted violently towards the stallion as she wrenched herself from the horrible routine. Her single orb stretched wide with fear as he turned on her, his amber pools showing whites. She stumbled back, gasping heavily.
Where was she? No she knew where she was vaguely, only vaguely and now this, other horse was standing before her. Demanding things, asking a question she hardly knew the answers to her self. Had another almost shared their fate? Their fate…Her mind whispered, it felt as if it was empty, oh so horribly empty. She couldn’t look at him, not this other one she had nearly, nearly... She couldn’t even bring herself to think of that and turning herself away from the nightmare about to happen she flew to the exit, new silvery beads falling from her boa as she, without words raced into the now, pitch darkness of the perilous canyons.
Her pillars shook with fear, fear of herself and this other who, who what? She wasn’t sure what had happened, or if anything at all had happened. It wasn’t of him doing anything to her that scared her to such a state. A state of such fear that even things like the thought of death didn’t faze you. She galloped on, the path she took becoming forever more strewn with slates upon slates of lose rock and shifting boulders. Her hooves slipped and her own voice couldn’t break free of her bod as she fell, sliding with gaining speed down the steep path, her quaking pillars trying to slow her fall in vain. Her bod and silk becoming covered in what normally would have been dust but had now become a thick pasty creature, forever clinging to her, making her slide even faster.
Despite her fear she couldn’t speak, couldn’t think. What had happened to herself? What was happening? Was death happening? Haunt couldn’t see what lay in her path, and if there was a boulder, she was done for. With the thought of death filling her head she fought all the more franticly, digging her hooves up to her hocks in the perilous surface, but it had almost to little effect. She was going down, and there was nothing she could do.
//ooc// Ok this is the part where you see something that had been hidden from most others, this doesn't usualy happen and when it does its choas. If you don't get what happened it's basicly like Haunt broke from from a trance, or nightmare im not quite sure how to exsplain it, I just wrote it in the moment. But this is when she has her own head <3

.x. lost 'til you're found .x.
Slowly he felt himself come back to reality, far from the nothingness he had experience earlier and the frenzied feeling he grappled with after being rudely awaken from his trance. He let his tense muscles relax yet again, though he was careful to not allow himself to lapse into his desolate mind once more. He took a deep intake of breath and figuratively shook things off, only giving himself a mental scolding to never skimp on something as important as sleep again. The rain still fell harshly outside, creating little streams of water that snaked themselves around, slithering to his hooves. He longed for the green grass above the rocks, to see the pale moon hiding itself behind those gray clouds.
.x. swim 'til you drown .x.
But for now he stood between walls, suffocating. But at least he was staying dry and for the most part comfortable, even though he just wished the wet to go away and leave his land green and dry. He stole a glance at Haunt again, curious as to why she hadn't even responded to his inquire yet. Of course his words were rude, and he didn't even half blame her. He should have to kept to himself, he was only overreacting, becoming deranged courtesy of the weather. She seemed upset, confused maybe? He wasn't the best at reading emotions, and watched as beads of preparation formed on her skin. The temperature was far from warm, and he only continued to watch. Doing nothing, saying nothing, just watching.
.x. know that we all fall down .x.
Then she bolted, away from the walls enclosing them and into the dangerous darkness. Without another thought he galloped after her, though everything that had to do with his well being told him not too. If this mare wanted to commit suicide, then let her. Don't kill yourself trying to save her, the little voice in his head told him. The one who thought things through before acting, the one who had the most sense. For it was suicide to gallop trough the treacherous rocks this time of night and weather. The rain made it beyond slippery, and the clouds let no light through them. The moon and stars would be no help tonight, for you couldn't even see if there was a cliff before you.
.x. love 'til you hate .x.
Karolek could hear her swift hoof beats ahead, though orbs could not tell body from rock as went after her. Wandering this land continuously ever since he set eyes on it was the only thing that saved him, as his sight failed him greatly. He took a sharp corner, daggers digging deeply into the dirt and stone for grip. They almost slid off the side, though somehow he made it past. A rare tree limb overhung the path ahead and barred his way, he only had seconds to react. His frame too large to duck successfully he concentrated for a second and it broke off, flying out in the darkness. He failed to slow down, and auds humorously picked up the sound of it falling down to the bottom of the ravine moments later.
.x. jump 'til you break .x.
If one fell, there would be almost no saving them. The fall was great, and the path hazardous. This was no light spring rain, this had developed into a full blown storm. The wind was broken in the canyon, though debris had fallen down from above and pebbles and even boulders scattered themselves on the narrow trail. His footing slipped quite a few, though only by pure luck he managed to stay upright. The larger objects he dodged or at least resort pushed out of his way, amazed he actually had control of his power at such high stress levels and time restraints.
.x. know that we all fall down .x.
The sound of hide against stone entered his auds, making them perk in the direction of the noise. Alarm surged through him, making his steps quicker though more dangerous. His conscience telling him to stop, she was doomed if she fell...there was no use watching her die. But he surged onward, stilts carrying him safely through the precarious obstacles. His banner savagely whipping against his boa as he ran. He noticed the path going steeply downward, and he needed to lessen his pace. He raked his mind for the outlay of this path, was there an end soon? Or did it result in a cliff? Was there an large boulders in the way? He couldn't remember, and his orbs strained for all they could, and finally spotted something.
.x. if ever your will starts crashing down .x.
Haunt, she was sliding downward, pillars earnestly trying to find footing but being useless. What could he do? He snorted angrily, needing his brain to work fast but his mind went blank. There was no hope...He tried to run faster, urging his legs faster but they didn't listen. They wouldn't allow him. Instead he strained his eyes to find something that would help her...anything. He spotted a glimpse of faded green clinging to the canyon wall beside him, winding its way up to the greener land above. He stared at it desperately, willing it to detach itself. It obeyed him promptly, and he sent it hastily to her aid. It wound itself around her flailing limbs and barrel tightly, then pulled harshly backward. Toward him, toward safety and subsequently halting her descent to oblivion. He assumed it might injure her somewhat, but he supposed a little discomfort would be better then falling down to your death.
.x. that's when you'll find me .x.
OoC||DONE! .

Haunt Feels like I' ve lived forever...
The sky was pitch black, and even the pounding rain could not been seen in this darkness. What had been before, a spring shower had turned into a withering, roaring, monster of a storm. The lashing winds howled along the canyon walls, cutting themselves off at times with their force. There where no stars, or a moon tonight, forcing the sight from many eyes as the night had awoken, sending it’s hesitant fingers to clutch the world in a tightening grip.
Haunt continued to fall, her hide stung with the friction between her and the unforgiving earth, pillars weakening, and nares stretched wide with the fight to breathe. The slivery beads slipped off the pasty surface that clung to her, as if it had a film of ice form upon it. The sounds of tumbling rock, and grating surfaces where lessened by the rain, the rain witch made the air thick and heavy like a blanket of packed snow.
Desperately the mare tried again, swinging her hindquarters round to slow herself. She was only met with pain though as the hidden edges of dormant stone pieces flashed through her flesh, thick raindrops platting to the ground as she slipped past, eye distraught and half closed with bone aching weariness. Can’t…Not now, please not now…her mind choked, blood welling from beneath her forelock. “Ah!” her crown jerked up, finding the terrifying liquid dancing on the edge of her nares, suddenly realising it was coming from, that.
She came to a jarring halt, well not exactly a halt seeing as she was ripped back up the fall within moments. The gurgling mud releasing her with a disappointed pop, the remains of it’s children slipping from her coat as she was whisked through the air. Her eye shut tight against the knife sharp wind and maw open in rasping breaths. Suddenly she felt her body collide with the drowning earth once more, though she didn’t continue her frantic decent.
She lay there, tangled in what seemed like a root, or a vegetation of some kind. Her neck lay limply upon the clawing soil, the last bit of debris from her previous struggle bouncing off her hide down into the darkness, down into what looked like oblivion. Her side rose with a forceful breath and she didn’t even try to regain her feet, though she rolled her head so it perched upwards.
In another moment her pillars brought themselves beneath her, as if inviting her to try and rise. She stumbled and didn’t get more then half way the first couple tries, her whole bod pulsing with the contact of the rain and the pain it brought to her aching hide.

.x. lost 'til you're found .x.
The buckskin stallion waited...waiting to see if his plan would work. Awaiting the pull-back of his vines, waiting to see if she was alright. Too much waiting. Everything had happened so quickly that his mind raced to comprehend it. Suddenly she was there, right before him. He could barely see her, though he saw enough. Dirt mixed with clear and crimson slicking her coat. Nares were widened to a crazed extent, heaving for breath to come easily again. Such a dreadful sight, even for someone he had just barely met. He retracted the green threads twisting their way still around her body, releasing them of their duties. They slipped away quickly, disappearing in the darkness as quickly as they had appeared.
.x. swim 'til you drown .x.
Karolek now stood above her, waiting to see her reaction, maybe she would be mad at him? Had she intended to fall to her death, was that her plan? No, he highly doubted that. She was strangely calm and serene, yes. Not suicidal. And even if she was upset at him, for whichever reason, he still wasn’t about to let blood be spilt on his land. Something must have startled her to gallop into the darkness as she had. His words? Perhaps. Though he oddly wasn't phased by that fact, possibly because he didn't believe it himself. Why would those three words effect her so much? Too many questions, not enough answers.
.x. know that we all fall down .x.
“Are you alright?“ he asked, honest simple words slipping out of his maw before he could retract them. What kind of question was that? Of course she wasn’t. The silence kept it easy, safe for a moment while he awaited her reply. The howling winds above and heavy raindrops were all background noise, things his auds didn’t even register at this moment. All he heard was their breathing, seemingly getting louder by the second. All it took was time…time to hear a response. But now he felt as if time would destroy him.
.x. love 'til you hate .x.
The rain still poured down on them without letup, having no mercy for the injured or worried. It cared for no one. He almost envied it, having never to worry, having no cares…Almost like the mare before him had before…before her sudden change of behavior. Something was strange about her, but he figured all that mattered now was her safety. And for the blasted rain to end. She struggled to stand upright, though her legs failed her multiple times. He yearned to help her somehow, but he figured he better leave her to her own devices. Was there anything at all he could do? Should he speak again? He searched for words, but none came. They escaped like a thief in the night, leaving him standing there orbs watching Haunt with helplessness.
.x. jump 'til you break .x.
.x. know that we all fall down .x.

Haunt Feels like I've lived forever...
The strange things released their grips upon her and she stumbled, the mud flying in all directions as she struggled to keep up just enough. She knew if she laid down it would take a long time for her to stand once again. She could feel the presence of the stallion, had he saved her? No that was impossible, but yet who else could have?
Haunt panted heavily, maw stretched wide with rasping breathes and orb closed to the world. She was lost in her own head again, though this time it felt as if it was merely an empty forest, not like before. Nothing at all like before. Her pillars frenzied themselves, trying to stand. Head low to ground, merely because she was unable to raise it. The sudden lyrics shook her mind, and her head flew back, though that drained her body even more. She slumped forward, desperately trying to regain herself. Her breath, her mind, her body, everything.
“I’m…I’m fine” her last word ending in a mere whisper. It was a lie obviously, but what else was she supposed to say? Somehow, she found the strength to finally rise. Her pillars quaked, but she refused to let herself fall. Crimson rain lay about her from numinous wounds, and the steady drip of it from her nares caught her off guard. That’s right…Her orb opened to a slit. And turning away slightly from the stallion, raised her head.
She felt exposed when this thing was in sight but, as long as he wasn’t asleep there was no immediate harm. She hesitated, but then with a determined shake of her head she allowed her silk to slip form her face, letting the downpour wash the blood from that. She knew how it looked, and was ready for Karolek to voice his disgust, or maybe fear of the sight that lay behind black silk.
With a quivering breath the last strand fell away from her face, fluttering as if in slow motion. What lay beneath it could startle any horse, compared to her overall look, possible beauty this deformation stood out like nothing else could. Scars, the shape of claw strikes lay upon her brow. Removing the vibrant pelt from her face to be replaced with gnarled, twisted rips of flesh. Her eyelid was hardly noticeable, though it was there, under everything that was usually hidden its self. That eye, she hadn’t opened it in her whole life. That is, since it happened.
The blood began to thin, slowly peeling away from her where her eyes should have been, open and studying the world with the same silky gaze of the other. Her other orb was shut tight, anytime now he would reject her, as many others have. Not like she wasn’t used to it now, it was to be expected, at least for most horses. But when she found others that seemed so kind, so caring, so much like this stallion before her. It sent a certain ache to her chest when they all refused her, all because of this.
