I really enjoyed my day watching these magnificant stallions at their best.We were about 5 feet from the arena on the very first row. There were probably about 200-300 people there(I'm not good with guessing stuff like that). This horse was led around the arena a few times, performing the capriole, where the horse jumps off the ground and kicks out his back feet. This was the levade. The horse is asked to keep this standing position for a moment. It takes years of training and remarkable balance. This horse was the only andalusion there, and he was breath-taking.He was beginning to bow in the pic. The Grande Quadrille, where the horses line up and move,as a line,in a circle. Just a stallion performing the extended trot. The piaffe,a move where the horse performs a cadence trot with little forward movement. The Mezair.Since Lipizzans were originally used in battle, this was to protect the rider from soldiers on the ground. Pas de Trois.Three very well trained horses performing mirror image moves around the arena. This was the only shot I got of the capriole, because he was at the back of the arena. If only we had been on the side instead of at the front. You should have seen all the camera flashes that went off xD The Mezair again, this time without the rider.
