* Bella *
My mind cluttered with the thoughts of my past, all making my life miserable. As the questions I still had raced through my mind. Why was my father like this? Why did he kill my mother? Why did he have to try to kill me just to get a son? None of it made sense, and I didn't think any of it ever would. Shaking my head gently and slowly, my large hooves pounded against the earth beneath me. Anger began to build up in my mind, he had no right to do what he did and I should've gotten him back for this. But I didn't, I was too small and not skilled enough to take down a stallion clydesdale. And a skilled earthbender at that, sighing a began walking heavier. Letting my hooves hit the earth harder, pounding one of my hooves I watched as some of the earth rose. Smirking I tossed my head, and the earth flew into the morning air.
I wanted to find someone different, Blackwater seemed nice, but was he really? No one ever knew, except for the ones who did know him. So far he seemed to be nice to me, but trust was something he would need to earn. It wasn't something I would give out easily, for I had already trusted so many that had betrayed me. Ears twisted behind me as the sound of a bush moving caught my attention. Moving forward faster, my heart beat in fear. Who was it? What was it? And why were they here? I wanted to know, and soon. Turning back to face whatever was behind me, I sighed realizing nothing was there. I really needed to learn to calm my nerves down, but would that day ever come? I doubted it.

A lone 2-year-old was lost in his thoughts. So much had happened in the past few months. The sound of another horse dying in agony still rang in his ears. Ever alert, he noticed a mare walk into a land he was almost certain was for birthing. He couldn't help but follow her. His guess was that she was young, younger than him even, and he was young. The first thing he noticed was her hindquarters. She was a clydsedale, so her hips were wideset and sloping. The second thing he noticed was how well proportioned she was. Her ancestry was probably quite admirable.
The bruno had walked around to her front, ready to introduce himself when she abruptly changed her speed. Something had spooked her. Reflexively, he looked behind her and noticed the brush moving. He figured it was just the wind, but he stepped toward her just in case. He watched, mildly amused, as she whipped around, obviously still frightened. His bulk wasn't quite ready for her change in stance and his shoulder brushed against her flank. "Are you ok?" he asked, hoping he hadn't frightened her too terribly.

* Bella *
Nostrils flared with heavy breathes, I snapped my head in the direction of the brute. He had come from nowhere it almost seemed, moving to the side. I gave him some room and let out an easier breath. My mind wandered, what was he doing here? Why was he here anyway? The questions I held had to be left unanswered for now, maybe I could ask him those things later. Ears went back nervously as he spoke. For I knew most male's as being cruel, like my father. Of course this one was young, so maybe he was to be trusted, but I wouldn't take chances. I was cautious and thats how I would be until I trusted him completely.
Turning my head in his direction I smiled softly at him, embarrassed that I was so jumpy. Of course with a past like mine, could you really blame me? I hoped not, for I didn't want to be blamed for how I was. Relaxing a little bit more I nodded in greeting to him. "Yeah, i'm ok. Thanks. I'm Bella." I told him softly, my ears perked towards him now. Tail swishing I waited patiently for his response.

The young stag returned her smile. She was cute, this little yearling filly. She was quite a bit shorter than he, but her hooves promised a growth spurt. He dipped his head at her introduction, "Pleased to meet you, ma'am. The name's Hypnos. His smile turned into a crooked grin. It had almost a charming quality to it. He tossed his head, his white mane getting in his eyes. A knicker of annoyance escaped his maw as he glared at the hair now in his face. Gently, he flicked the mane out of his eyes.
Glancing back at the fae before him, he stepped toward her, but was careful to give her her space. He nodded toward the exit of the valley. "This is hardly a place for you, ma'am. May I chaperone you to a more safe area?" He was completely sincere. It was the way he thought, how he had been 'raised', if you'd call it that. He took a tentative step toward the way they two of them had come, thought better of it, turned back to her and tugged on her mane. "Come on..." He wasn't even flirting, he was just being Hypnos.

Smiling I looked to him as he spoke, he was indeed something else. But it was something different, and something I liked. He wasn't like everyone else that I had met, and I liked that about him. He was kind, yet seemed playful at the same time. Grinning I shook my mane laughing slightly as he tugged on it. "Alright alright i'm coming Hypnos." I told him with a slight laugh. For he was indeed impatient, but I didn't mind that much.
Smirking I trotted ahead of him, tail swishing as I glanced back at Hypnos, ears perked in his direction. Neighing lightly I smirked before standing waiting for him to catch up with me. Letting out a heavy breathe I thought for a moment, why did I feel more comfortable around him then anyone else? Was there something different about him? I didn't know, but it was indeed something I never experienced before.

The young stag watched as her hindquarters danced in front of him. There was something oddly beautiful about her slightly disproportionate shape. His gray whipcord lashed at his sides, dispelling those aweful insects all animals are plagued with. As his bulk left imprints in the earth where his hooves met the dirt, his body was carried forward, just behind the filly he was 'rescueing'. Her voice, when she spoke was like the songbirds in the morning. Silently, Hypnos barated himself, Oh, yeah. That's attractive, Hypnos. Gods that was corny.
After promicing himself he wouldn't say anything like that outloud, and noticing his quarry had stopped, his powerful rear legs shot him forward with a grace unknown for one as big as he. In an instant he was passed her. Hypnos threw his head back over his shoulder and nickered. "Well, come on!" He was fairly certain she could out run him with her long spindly legs, but it was what she was still built for. He had almost grown out of the flight stage. Still, the thud of his hooves was the loudest audible thing in the area.

Tossing my head back I smirked as he came up behind me, ears perked towards him as I watch curiously. For there was indeed something different about him, he was kind. And I oddly trusted him, tilting my head to the side out of my own confusion I smiled. It was truly amazing that I could trust this stallion so easily, yet no others. Pushing that thought aside I watched as he ran forward. My mind thinking of how graceful he looked, for I had never seen a draft move so elegant. Not even I was this graceful, even clumsy at times. But that was not to spoken of, for I hated having that little bit of cluts that I did have in me. Sighing and shaking my mane I followed after him slow at first them picked up the pace.
As I set into a gallop and ran by his side, going a little bit ahead of him I smirked but kept going. I had no clue where we were going, but I was happy and thats all I was focused on right now. The fact that I was happy seemed like a miracle to me, for it had been forever since I actually had fun. Maybe one other time, but I couldn't remember, right now my mind was occupied.

Slowly, the colt steered his newly made friend out of the valley. There was something very wrong in the fae's head. She had been through something tramatic, he was sure. She trusted him though. At least, Hypnos thought she did. His two years worth of experience weren't much to go by, but ya know... Anyway. Soon, they were standing outside the exit. Tall grey auds swiveled at the sound of a horse crying out in severe pain. His first instinct was to go find her, but thought kept him back.
"No..." he whispered aloud to himself. "Labor is a mare's battle. No one is to intercede." He turned back toward the rest of the lands. A quick survey of the area told him that there was no immediate danger. Deep orbs turned back to the filly with him. "Where to, Beautiful?" He wasn't stupid. It was common knowledge that Bella meant beautiful in some language he didn't speak. He gave her a crooked grin. "There's lands that are s'posed to be for Earth elementals, like me. So I guess there's a place for ev'ry horse. Anywhere in particular you're headed, ma'am?"
