I ain't here to do anything halfway, N Y X X;; don't give a damn what anyone might say.
Weakened muscles strained against the weight of the colt's stilts each time he lifted them.Tattered dreads lay limp against his nape, soaked through after weeks of being exposed to the spring rain. His fluff of a tail was a sorry sight, and looked more like a rat and grabbed onto his rump and was staying for the ride. His coat was dull from lack of care.No matter how much he racked his brain,he couldn't remember the last time he looked decent enough to show himself.Despite all this though,Nyxx still had his burning pride that lit up his eyes. They looked like to glowing embers in the darkness, and were a striking difference between his coal-colored visage. He was a tiny controller and demanded respect. This was of carrying himself often got him into trouble with adults, not that he had seen on in quite sometime. He struggled to keep the image of his parents in his skull, but with each passing day they faded more and more.Strangely enough though,he could still remember that night the barn horses were set free by the men in uniforms, with their flashing cars.He could remember it as vividly as if had just happened yesterday. That was his first taste of freedom, something that had been nagging at him since birth.
Enough of the past though;the future is here and now.The colt with the starless pelt trudged on,not knowing where his heart was leading him.His pillars moved on their own,Nyxx no longer consciously aware that he was walking. The sound of water eating the shore and the smell of salt on the breeze broke his trance.Deciding that whatever was making that noise wasn't much out of the way,the curious youth followed the sound. The suddenly soft ground exhausted him as he stumbled up and over sand dunes, coming out on top to stand in awe. Before him was a stretch of water,so much bigger than the pond back at the barn. Then he had thought nothing was bigger, but this..this ever moving body stood the colt still. For a while he just stood there, taking in the welcome sun.His orbs were captured by the flecks of light that danced on the water, until everything else disappeared. And then the strangest thing happened..the water began to rise up in a strand about as thick as a horse's leg.Nyxx blinked, and it fell back down with a splash. He tried again, this time able to move it around, with just his gaze! The colt could have stayed on the beach forever, bending the water to his will, but suddenly everything did go black, and the months of traveling finally caught up with his as he fell the the sandy ground, drifting off into a dreamland full of dancing water.

CASMIR
Stand up, hold on, let go, shout out
The gray being moved with a swift force through the emraldine grasses, orbs wide and alert. The glossy coat shimmered in the mid morning sun as he quietly moved down to the luxurious sand dunes, always warm and crisp. Black daggers pounded the fleshy turf with each movement. Soon, the sparkling blue oceans came into sight and the stag smiled. He would stay in this beautiful place for the rest of his life, if he had to. He had no problems with the silence back in Neibiosa, no siree. But soon, he realized, there would be other horses seeking refuge, some young, some old and some completely insane. He'd let them come live in his perfect haven, sure, but until then, he was more than content with being by himself.
Don’t barf, free fall, begin right now
The stallion continued on his way, body swaying with his gentle gait as he walked down the large sand hills and into the surf. Small spirals of water shot up above him, twisting and turning in the mid morn sky, dancing and twirling as they finally came together, forming a hand of sorts which reached up into the skies, his thoughts caught in the moment.Cas' hooves moved through soft, grainy ground and he knew that the beach was the place for him. Warmth snuck up the mighty white pillars and the stagling smiled for the thousandth time that day. There was always something new to marvel at, something new to discover. And as he would find out, sometimes all discoveries are not exactly easy to read.
Get lost, get loud, wake up, break out
The angelic bodice moved out from the water, beadlets of water forming streams and running in little streams down his body. Dark eyes caught glimpse of a small bundle wrapped neatly in the sands. Curiosity wandered through his features and he moved forwards, wondering what in hell that was lying in the sand. As he got closer, he realized that it was a colt, around a year or so old and fast asleep amongst the blanket of yellow. His shadow towered over the small form and he frowned slightly, wondering who would be so careless as to actually leave a foal here.
Don’t stop ’till it feels like
Casmir lowered a paled muzzle, breath soft on the small one's neck. Dark brown eyes surveyed the youngling's condition, which could leave a lot to be desired. The grey stag nudged the sleeping form softly, concerned about his location. Anything could happen here, there was no shortage of wolves and other deadly predators, not to mention hell bent stallions with sick, sick intentions chorusing through their heads. Soft, murmured words tumbled out of the maw and he stood back a little, not quite sure about what would happen. "What are you doing here, small one?"
Whoa

Tidal waves soared above trees, crashing down upon them with epic force. All was silent, the kind that makes you think your ears are stopped up.The kind that built pressure on your eardrums.Water droplets began to pollute the air, spraying everything. But suddenly they froze, and then began to move reversly, back from where they had come.A faceless shadow emerged through the water, speaking in an inaudible voice.
Nyxx awoke to find that the voice in his dream came from a real being. The ebony colt snorted, glancing over his shoulder. The bright sunlight hurtt his orbs and he had to blink several times before he could make out a face. His legs were suddenly under him, stronger with sleep, but still weary from travel and hunger. The initial shock of the stranger stallion was over, and Nyxx scolded himself for being so...foalish.He lifted his crown higher and then proceeded to shake the lingering sand off his contrasting pelt.A glare was almost shot at the stud, and insult almost hurled. But sense came over the colt, and he bit his tounge with wounded pride at being caught in such a vulnerable way. Sleeping, obviously was mumbled, keeping his orbs down.He longed to try out his water tricks again...or had that just been a dream too? This new logic made more sense, and Nyxx sighed slightly, glancing up at the grey hessian. He was much larger than the foal, and Nyxx even knew he was no match for him right now.
The nigrescent youth thought he was on public terrian, free for anyone. He was slightly upset at having been awakened by this stranger, and slightly upset at the manner in which he handled it...jumping up like a scared little filly.Nyxx snorted for the second time, casting a gaze out over the water, the sun's glint reflecting in his own pools. I could ask you the same question..he challenged, turning his unwavering stare back to the male that stood calmly before him.

CASMIR
Stand up, hold on, let go, shout out
The dappled being moved slightly to the right, dark orbs giving off a rather interested look. This young one seemed rather annoyed that his mid morning nap had been crashed. Narrowing a slightly suspicious eye, Cas looked over the dirtied colt. If he was sleeping here, the stag mused, eye still narrowed at this being , then where did he come from? I had heard of no-one losing a yearling of late. Although, I haven't exactly been here for ages. But still, where should this boy be? He looks like he needs a good wash and some relaxation. Somehow, I don't exactly see him agreeing for help... The thoughtful stallion continued to chew on his progressing thoughts. He wondered many a thing about this young horse, considering whether the power of water had blessed him yet.
Don’t barf, free fall, begin right now
What was he doing here? A snort erupted from the pale muzzle, the sand swarming around his feet. "To each is his own, boy." Cas sniffed, lifting the somewhat normal head into the vast blue skies. He could smell something, but wasn't exactly sure of who would belong to this scent. The sun shined down on the pair with a newfound ferocity, it's glorious rays dancing across the white painted pelt. The stallion remained silent, taking in the sparkling blue oceans, mind in another world. Eyes closed momentarily to bask in the daylight. It was a meditation of sorts. After what seemed like a thousand patient years, the stag turned back to the yearling who was now standing.
Get lost, get loud, wake up, break out
His stance was blocked, challenging to some. Casmire only let a smile cross the calm facade, years of experience whipping though his mind. There had been times when he had been like this. Arrogance was the food of the young and a meal for the twisted. He'd seen many a colt be turned from his element to join a war. Oh, they all wanted to prove themselves worthy. They thought that they were invincible. They would run proudly from their mothers, flashing all knowing smiles of hope. The stag shook his head. They learnt soon enough. Looking over, he examined the colt again.
Don’t stop ’till it feels like
"Pray tell, o' slumbering one, what have they dubbed you?" He tilted his head to an angle, harks moving backwards and forwards with a gentle force. A grey stalk smoothed the ground around him, warmth creeping up the pillars like a vine that had been on a host for many a year. After letting the silence entwine between the two, he dipped a head, eyes speaking respect and solitude. "Casmir."
Whoa

The ebony colt watched the stallion watch him with a steady, challenging gaze. Nyxx thought he seemed like he would be one to act like a father to a stranger, telling them what to do and what not to do. The colt's stubborn attitude flared, and his pelt twitched with anticipation to move out from under his attention. The youngling was quite independent, being born with that type of spirit and given the opportunity to put it to work.Nyxx had taken care of himself for a few months now,and although there wasn't much to show for it,he was still alive. He was just in need of a good, quiet rest and a hearty meal.
The ocean roared in his auds, and he gazed out at the body of teal water as it lapped greedily at the shore. He could see seaweed being washed ashore at a slow pace, just following the in and out movements of the waves. The colt suddenly wondered what it might taste like, the ocean. The air was thickly salted, weighing down on his lungs when he breathed in.The sweltering sun did not help, but instead made him long to dive into the waves and submerge his dark, burning pelt in the coolness of the water. This was when the other spoke, and Nyxx was not quite sure what he meant, snorting arrogantly at this.It was a cover-up of some sorts, and he was glad when the stallion moved on.But again, the colt was not instantly aware of what he was saying. It was like he was speaking a different language, but Nyxx quickly decided it was just because he was old.
He wanted his name, the colt discovered, after stating his.Casmir.Nyxx had not heard that name,in the horse world nor the human. At the barn, the horses had their own names for themselves, the show names being to long and pointless. He was not sure why his mother had named him so,nor why the humans had named him Giouvuanneise, but he did not linger on these thoughts for long. Nyxx he simply uttered, narrowing his orbs when he realized it would be too rude to leave it at that. Do you live here?

CASMIR
Stand up, hold on, let go, shout out
Hmm... The stag mused, twin peaks now slowing in the movement. ..Nyx...a peculiar name for such a boisterous young stag. If I remember rightly, that name is of either greek or roman origins. Funny name, too, seeing as those humans liked to think that this Nyx being lived in the skies and would grant their wishes or hopes... Blinking slowly, the large brown orbs adjusted to the bright summer air. The heat was getting increasingly muggy and the stag found himself longing for a blanket of water washing over the dark grey pelt. Cas could almost feel the beads of liquid running down his spine, the salty goodness soaking into his sweaty skin.
Don’t barf, free fall, begin right now
He looked over to the colt again, who seemed to be longing for the same refreshment from the ocean that the elder searched for. Shaking the sticky threads off his throat, he wondered whether or not he should be letting the youngling know of the co-ordinates for Neibiosa. Sure, he was happy to share, but this young animal seemed rather suspicious. Or maybe it was just him being suspicious. Casmir always knew how to keep his distance from other horses, and most importantly, watch his back. You never knew who, or what, could creep up behind you when your eyes were focused on the obvious.
Get lost, get loud, wake up, break out
Shaken out of his possessive thoughts once again, Cas found himself searching the young stallion's face. And found himself trying to remember that this colt was not the baby he looked to be. He remembered rather fondly when others used to look down upon him when trying to make a point. It seemed that no-one was willing to look to the next generation for help, seeing as the younger minds of society made more sense than the older ones. Nodding, he shook the memories away. "Near enough, Nyx." He paused, running a tongue over the inside of his mouth. "But if you happened to be heading that way, you'd be more than welcome to join me."
Don’t stop ’till it feels like
Casmire paused again, letting the silence drip in along with the boiling summer sun. Flanks moved with a steady rhythm as the large bodice remained still with a statues movement. The horse rather enjoyed this time of the year. It had longer days, cooler nights and gave him more time with the water. He could almost see the sparkling blue liquid calling him to come bend it as he pleased. Various shapes drifted in and out of his mind. Huge pipes, magnificent waves and sprinkling surf. A small smile creased his maw. Summer pleased him more than he knew.
Whoa

I ain't here to do anything halfway, N Y X X;; don't give a damn what anyone might say.
Seagulls cackled noisily from above, their obnoxious voices rolling on the wind as did the water on the current.Nyxx cast a glare up at them as they flew in a circle, screaming at each other over the roar of the ocean. But the sun was too bright for the young brute, and he turned his gaze back to the grey equine infront of him, blinking at the brightness that still lingered in his orbs. His audits caught the tiny scrambling of a crab at his feet, the the colt peered down at it.Nyxx proceeded to tap it with his hoof, but the crab made a feeble attempt to pinch the slate, then took off faster than Nyxx's tired eyes could follow. When Casmir spoke,he lifted his skull back to it's level height. Was that an offer to stay with the stallion?Nyxx battled with his pride for a moment, not sure why Casmir would put forth an offer of that size to a stranger with a sharp tongue.Nyxx blinked, surprised, and was silent for ages.
He had no knowledge of what it was like to belong to a herd, nor have a leader. At the barn, there was no herd formation-it was all work and no play.Nyxx imagined a lead stallion would be like a father, and the colt hardly knew what that was like either, since he came from a stud, who had virtually no relationship with his mother. He was just forced upon her,and nearly a year later, out popped Nyxx. So naturally, the youngling tumbled all of these thoughts around in his nigrescent head, until he formed words to speak. Uhmm....well,almost words I suppose it wouldn't hurt to stay here... The colt realized those words were too corny, and covered it up with ...but just until I'm ready to keep moving. Nyxx, after speaking those lyrics, thought they might provoke questions, questions that would annoy Nyxx.He replaced his shocked expression with his original 'don't care',nonchalant face, and proceeded to act normal.

Casmir
Stand up, hold on, let go, shout out ; Don’t barf, free fall, begin right now Get lost, get loud, wake up, break out ;, Don't stop 'til it feels like woah
Casmir couldn't help but grin to himself at Nyxx's dismay to his offer, watching how the somewhat surprised orbs darted around in the skull. The sea birds cackled almost happily in the vast expanse of sky. Their calls echoed around the seaside, the tide washing in and out, in and out, licking at the millions upon millions of sandy grains. Shells decorated the fading tideline, looking as though the mighty sea god had picked up a fistful and had scattered them upon the beach. A wavering summer heat had already began to swallow Casmir's trail of thoughts. The salty exterior of the terrain made the stag thirst for the relaxing depths of shade and a long lap of water.

The water stallion was pulled out of his hopeful thoughts by the smaller horse stomping amongst the sands at a small crab. The animal made a feeble escape attempt and scuttled out from under the colt's feet. The tiny sea creature clicked its pincers and scrabbled away, digging far beneath the hot sand and into its cool burrow. Looking up, Casmir watched the younger stallion search for words. If he accepted, then Casmir would be able to begin his water bending training, assuming that he had of course the aqua element. Somehow, judging by how long the young horse was taking, the elder figured that he would be a father figure of sorts. That bothered the leader a little. The last time he'd been a father...well, he didn't like to discuss it.
[x][x][x][x]
Eventually, awkward words were pushed past the youngling's maw. Casmir simpily smiled, somewhat happy that this young bender, or so he hoped, had decided to follow his true path. When the small facade changed back to the "I don't care" position, the water horse nodded quietly. "Well then, Mister Nyxx, until you're ready to go, then you will be welcomed in Niebiosa." The stag turned, the sand now nearly synging the fragile flesh under his daggers. Slowly, he moved to an area where the dunes met the grass and looked back. "Follow if you wish, or you are fine to go back to sleep."
