Long left prints showed straight, the gate a run. The mare that left them? Still running. Steadilly through the undergrowth. The mare has been running for days, sweat coating her buckskin pelt. There was one place she past only yesterday where it appeared that several mares stood in wait. A stag would walk by and pick up a mare or two on his way through the clearing. After seeing this, the dun walked away in contempt. In no way was she going to sit on her hooves and wait for a stallion to come and claim her as his own. No stallion got her loyalty until he proved himself...directly to her. No stag was worth it. Her walk had turned back into a run. Grasslands blurred by. Here and there were trees but nothing really suited the mare.
Finally, she came to a charred area. The trees here were obviously burnt, and anything green tasted like smoke. A smile played at the edges of her lips. Just becuase she could, she sent a fireball at one of the nearest trees. It erupted in flame and an exhillarated laugh escaped from her maw. Almost as soon as she had started the fire, she cut it off. The main thing she hated about her element was the fact that it was so easy to lose control. The flames died to nothing, leaving only ash in their wake. The dun turned and continued walking through the burnt remains of a once beautiful forrest. Suddenly a sent caught her attention. Her wild run halted with ash and dirt flying from her sliding hooves.
The scent was that of a stallion, but it was far from fresh. After a few seconds of careful examination and thought, she crossed the invisible barrier and walked into once claimed territory. Many things reached her from nothing but a scent marker. Mostly just that the stag was powerful. She shook her mane and continued walking. Small alarms went off in the back of her mind, but she didn't really care. A good fight was needed, and her adrinaline was already starting to pump. No emotion showed in her persona as she strode resolutely away from the boarder mark, deep into the unknown hellion's terrain. Every now and then, she'd set another tree on fire just for good measure in case no one knew she was present within an area she had no leave to be.

Shattered For what will never be...
A crackling sound of erupting flames brought the stallion to attention, his eyes opened wearily and he blinked, fighting the sleep from his mind. Another crack and snapping of a tree caused his head to twist around, his bleached orbs narrowed. The great stallion effortlessly rose, his splashed pillars moved with a grace of one that found no fear from others, only a quiet challenging stance.
His crown flew to the sky as he let out a harsh bellow, it radiated off the seemingly empty forest. Its vegetation nothing but ashes and charred wooded flesh. He stepped out from his place, nothing but a meagre cover of trees, his blue orbs narrowed again. Whatever it was, it was getting closer. The great stallion threw his head up once again, though nothing slipped from his parted maw. He had called out once already, whatever it was could either come or flee.
The mighty stallion stood his ground, all the while the distant trees burst into flame. A fire elemental eh? Thought so…The great stallion’s crown flew up once more, though his eyes stayed level with the earth and his silk sunk slowly back onto his majestic frame.
His eyes could see her now, a mare and clearly she was of fire heritage, even though the previous sights had confirmed this. His nares flared, smoke beginning to form in the crackling air. His silks trembled, their soft contact switching between the sky and his coat, as if pleading for fire to consume them. This will be an interesting meeting…His mind murmured.

ooc{{ It's perfectly fine. You gave me plenty to reply to. After all, what more could the stag really have done without powerplaying? ^_^
Oh how fun this is. Another tree lit up in flames. The mare had never truely enjoyed her gift. She had always looked at the ability to work with fire as a curse: something that was easilly lost control of once a few emotions got out of hand. This time, she let the fire take it's course for several minutes, letting the heat seep into her skin down to her icy heart. A shiver passed through her frame. A'right...enough of that. With a flick of her tail, the flames were gone, pulled once more into the deep confines of her mind. She shook her mane out and continued walking, paying close attention to everything around her.
Suddenly, the mare stopped. She heard a new noise. "Finally," she whispered. The sound was the shrill call of a stallion. For that matter, a stallion in charge. Nares quivered, but no scent was discernable. The wind was blowing toward the sound, not toward the buckskin. Her gait lengthened to a trot. Adrinaline pumping, breathing quickened, mind racing, the mare felt ready for battle. A slight incline barely effected her pace. The femme reached the top of a small hill and looked down. A stallion, bald in the face and very handsome appeared to be staring back at her. Still some 40 lengths away, she waited. Poised for his evaluation but making mental notes of her own, she showed no emotion. Blue eyes, ever pained, searched the stag, looking for something.
Small flames burned at her hooves, her tail and mane both smoking. It was clearly a show of power over her element, though how much control she truely had was unknown. She turned, showing her other side, not out of courtesy, but irritation. She was waiting for something. He had given a call of location. That gave her the choice of whether to continue walking into his lands or leave. Obviously, she chose to continue. She tossed her head, growing weary of waiting. What she was waiting for? an invitation. He could give another call, telling her basically 'front and center'. He could challenge her for tresspassing. He could walk away. He could ask her to join his kingdom. He could do alot of things. There were only a few she'd tolerate. Afterall, what is a king if he cannot deal appropriately with a mare?

Shattered For what will never be...
The form before him was smoking, silks emitted the impure mist as flames burned the ground about her daggers. The young, green grass wilting at the lick of ever dangerous flames. The stallion made no move as of yet, he knew this newcomer was powerful, and he wouldn’t want to end up in a fight, especially not a mare. Oh no Shattered Isn’t one to think mares are weak, or incapable he actually just didn’t like to fight, though he would go full out on either sex if need be.
His creamy back silk was lifted by the sudden, ash flavoured breeze. Rolling the soft substance between the air’s wisps. He let out a breath, nares wide, thinking about his next approach. He wouldn’t want to seem rude or in anyway unpleasant, for each horse had feelings and actions that differed greatly from another.
So in polite courtesy he dipped his head slightly, though his eyes where forever trained on the stranger, if she was a horse meaning his land more harm, he would deal with her as need be. His sun bleached eyes betrayed no immediate emotion, except maybe thoughtful curiosity. “Hello I’ am Shattered, the current leader of this land. May I help you?” His voice was not at all threatening, though he wasn’t someone you could boss around. His voice might be soft and quiet, but he can posses more venom and merciless actions then most. If the one confronting him was smart or at least sensible, they wouldn’t end up hurt.
The stallion wouldn’t ask her name, she could answer that unspoken question herself if she felt like it. He wasn’t one to go about asking wandering horses about one of their most important belonging. Or that’s how he would put it, though many would think this a little strange. His eyes were motionless, their gaze not once flickered from their target, it was an intense stare some would call rude, though they showed no hostile intent or anything for that matter.
He lifted his neck, it arched with it’s marbled pattern flexing. He cut off his stare though not completely, after all you don’t really want to invite an attack do you. He couldn’t keep staring at the horse, but he couldn’t just look away either. “If you are wandering through you may rest here as long as you like. Though I would appreciate it if you where not to harm the forests, those trees are needed” His orbs narrowed as he let out a soft, good natured chuckle. Though his next words were laced with his own meaning. “We need every one, no matter how wounded they already are” He smiled, hoping she wouldn’t take his words unkindly in some way.

The mare stood perfectly still under his gaze. His eyes were niether hostile nor welcoming but hiding. What? the femme couldn't deduce. She watched his head inch slowly toward the ground. The dun nearly scoffed at his obvious lack of self authority, but she saw his eyes never left her frame. Hmm...he might have some sense. She took his bow as an invitation to aproach. Whether it was or not, she was a little to cocky to care. Slowly walking to him, she kept her head just below his, not wanting to diliberately insult him...yet.
She heard his voice. She picked up bits and pieces of what he said. Name: Shattered; Authority: King; Hey, hold up. Why the hell did he say 'may'? She paused, wondering if the stag was lying to her. A quick whiff of his scent told her no. Her first instinct was to laugh in his face and keep walking, but something in his voice told her not to. Something was there, under the common courtesey that told her to be wary of him. A smile played at the corner of her lips.
At first she didn't answer, figuring there was probably more to come from the newly met stallion. His stance showed he was used to getting what he wanted, but his face showed absolutely nothing. The mare could not discern what he was actually feeling toward her. Nothing was radiating off of him like it did in most fire horses. She flicked her tail. I never need help, she told her self. And I never will. Her tail flicked the other side of her barrel, and she shifted her weight. It was not in nervousness, like most would guess, but in anticipation. The mare had never been one to wait for long.
Finally, more words were audible from his lips. Her smile broadened into a grin. "Well...I'll be sure not to destroy any...live...trees. As for passing through, I don't know. I'm beginning to like it here." After a slight chuckle she started to play word games. "Then again, if what you say is true, then I can easilly decide to 'just wander through' and stay here permanently. Hun, you basically just backed yourself into a corner." She began to circle him very slowly. In no way did her persona show that she was hostile, just mildly irritated. Nothing in her voice, eyes, or gait showed she was looking for a fight no matter how much she knew she wanted one. Shattered didn't look like a stallion who'd want to fight, but he probably could, given proper reason. "Or, I can go back to the original and just tell you I'm staying, deal with it, but that would be rude of an outsider. Then again, as would taking advantage of a naive king." She smiled at him. "But you're not that naive, are you?" She had made a full circle, standing at his head and making eye contact once more.

Shattered For What will never be...
Shattered chuckled, this mare obviously liked to talk. “You seem to like playing these games, though I thank you for your understanding” His voice echoed into the air, silent now of the whispering winds. His eyes didn’t narrow as she circled him, in fact they began to open wide, as if smiling in an odd sort of way. Her thorny lyrics didn’t phase him as she continued, taunting him and his words. But what about the words? That’s all they merely where, what one can do with those things called words.
His gaze never left the mare’s and he found himself being ‘backed into a corner’ or so she called it. Shattered smiled, his maw parting only the slightest bit as he gave a near silent laugh. “Well I’ am glad so seem to be enjoying yourself here” His voice seemed to hold a tinge of mockery, though it was so neatly covered up that almost nobody would have noticed, almost nobody.
The mare had almost came about once again, her daggers making little sound upon the ground. Though not many would have. Shattered gave another chuckle as his maw formed yet more words. “Though I don’t mind your company I would appreciate it if you where to not call me by anything other then my name” His bleached orbs caught hers for a moment, and he gave a thoughtful sigh. ‘Naïve’ if that’s what she thought about him she was dead wrong, though Shattered couldn’t deny she was powerful. Both in the mind and with her element. He had seen enough of that before when she so kindly, demonstrated her powers.
“Its true I might be naïve at being king” He smiled, “But I’ am not a naïve fighter. And really, fighting is what keeps us alive is it not?” She had stopped, and was now making eye contact. Shattered did nothing, he just returned her gaze that same emotionless features on his face. “Well?” He asked, raising his head.

The first thing the mare caught was his emotionless stare. Nothing in his face was readable. It was as if there was no one inside the hard physical casing. She wondered if she herself looked so empty. Inwardly, she shivered at the thought. As she spoke, his face turned into a grin, but not one she really liked to look at. It was as if he was mocking her back. His second phrase brought forth a chuckle. "Enjoying myself? I guess one might say so..." Once again, thoughts took her to a far away place deep within her mind...
"Very well, Shattered, but if I'm to call you that...my deeming is Sky," She mumbled after he told her to use his name. A smile played at her lips once more. Naive caught his attention...figured it would. Her mane tossed once more. She listened to his words. They were not what she was figuring on. Most stallions would have been thoroughly pissed if they had been insulted as Sky had just done. Why was this stag not? He's calm...entirely too calm. It bugs me. His calm could mean several different things. Sky narrowed it down to two. He was either completely stupid and saying whatever came to mind, or he was extremely calculating and knew that any reaction would pull a fight. So far, Sky was leaning toward the the latter.
Suddenly, she started. She had heard a phrase she herself had said many times: "Fighting is what keeps us alive." Her oppinion of the stag nearly doubled, though she still thought him weak. Her first once over of his frame had included all the basics: close combat, visible scarring, powerful build, etc. She brought her head up about a hand, now level with his. "Battle is what we are built for," she almost pranced at the statment. She was slightly jealous of the power in his hindquarters, but one would never hear the mare speak of such things as jealousy. "Without fighting, I don't believe either of us would be where we are today..."

Shattered For what will never be...
Shattered chuckled, this mare was definitely not like any others he had meet before. “Well what a strange name for a fire elemental, though its not a displeasing one…” The stallion let out a breeze blown sigh, sounding from his lungs like wood hewn chimes. The sunlight fell like splatters of red beads to the earth, though after blinking the dots returned to the natural faded gold. Moving constantly as the clouds billowed, to and fro.
The changing lights caught the stallion’s attention for a mere second, why was his vision so vivid with the colour of blood? He suppressed a shiver. Someone, no something was about, a feeling of dread, though the moment it happened it was gone. Forever lost to the gentile breeze like a broken dream, withered and frayed at the edges.
His gaze snapped back, full attention as the mare moved, her crown at his level now. His creamy auds fluttered back, ready to warn this cocky mare off if needed, though for now he merely listened as she spoke. Lyrics seeming to echo in his auds like the pattering of spring showers.
“Yes” He snorted, the blunt answer seemed to sting his body, though he knew nought the reason why. He lengthened his next line of lyrics. “You are right about that, for you could do all you could to become something, when by simply beating someone in a battle you can seize it all…If you can fight, you are better off” He had spoken these words softly, he felt something he could not explain. Ominous intentions maybe? Really, he was acting strange today…
//Ooc// Sorry it took so long, drain of muse and then family visits xD

Sky stood for a long moment. Many times had she been told that with her name, she should be an air elemental. Whenever that happened, she'd just think of her real name. Skybelle Alianora...what were they thinking!? As usual, she brushed the comment off. Besides, with the part about her name not being displeasing, she couldn't honestly be bothered by it. Her attention stayed trained on the king, even as his left the current situation.
That's always nice...totally zone out when you have a potentially hostile situation on your hooves. She was still wondering if he was really that naive or he was that good. With his rank of king, the dun still thought it was the second. After all, he wouldn't be where he was if he couldn't fight. And fight well, at that. Suddenly, a thought hit her. She was desperate to know if he was an idiot or a lead. In the blink of an eye, the mare had forged an entire plan in her mind.
She dipped her head slightly. A bow, if you will. "I have decided to remain within your lands until further notice. By your word, you cannot tell me I must leave. At least, you can't yet," a grin played at the edges of her lips. If he could see the loophole, then he'd pass part of the test. If he could not, Sky saw no reason for him to remain king. "If fighting is what got us both here, then why not stay here without fighting. I'm not interested in a show of brute force, but rather...a war of the mind." A deliberate pause allowed her words to sink in.
"Now," her lyrics gained a new tone: one of short lived triumph. "You, obviously, are free to do just about whatever you wish. Afterall, these are your lands. But, I too, am going to enjoy myself however I please. I recognise you as my superior for the time being, and I will try not to do anything too destructive to anything that's alive...good day, Shattered." And with that, the mare turned and walked away without even a backward glance. She was irritated at the way he had dealt with her, but invigorated that she'd basically told him off without being insubordinate. If he followed, she'd ignore him. If he called her back, she'd ignore him. This was her time to shine. He could fall in a hole.
