MiDoRi City Nights and Blinking Lights! Midori traveled through the unfamiliar place, turning her head this way and that, searching for others of her kind. She felt sweaty and tired, but continued to search. She could smell others of her kind, and a spark of hope kept her going. She would find someone. She just didn't know when."This is useless,"She muttered under her breath. "But I will find someone. I just know I will." Sighing helplessly, and ambled over under a tree to rest in the small amount of shade it provided. All she knew was that this place was better - much better - than her old home. She was a traveler since she was born; it was only a matter of time before she would have decided to leave and explore, and the leaders knew it. At least no fight had been involved. Midori was more than thankful for that. She didn't need scrapes and bruises to slow her down. Besides that, though, she wouldn't have minded a little ramble. It was obvious she would have won. Where she came from, She was special; She had some sort of magical powers that be barely understood herself. All she knew was that she thought about doing it, and it worked. Well, most things, anyway. When she tried to use fire, water, or air to attack others, it wouldn't work. She had figured out by now, though, that the problem was she could only do earthly things. She wanted to learn more about this. Maybe others, from where her mother grew up, could help her. That was what had brought her to Nyore Valley. Finished with her thoughts of her past life, she got back out and let out a loud whinny, listening to it echo against the hills, trees, and other things. Then she waited, pacing randomly as she waited for and answer to her call. [/color]

Mighty obsidians pounded the ground beneath the great stag, savoring the transitions of hardened stone to cushioned stalks of emerald. Ebon dipped pistons carried the Earth King out of his reigning terra and into the nearby field of Werliin. A rare summer breeze had carried the scent of another into his always searching nares, after a moment of recognition of the familiar earthen scent of his element and the undeniable scent of a vix he set off to meet and welcome the newcomer to the valley. To his knowledge there were no other earth stallions in the vicinity, though his nares had been giving him so strange signals. Nevertheless he would be above any other brute as King and quite had the right to greet the femora. Though why exactly had his thoughts wandered to this? Because he's Karolek, and although a great King he horribly over thinks and worries about just about everything and anything.
Harks instantly perked as the maiden's call rang clearly into his spires, making his pace quicken no matter how much the sun beat mercilessly on his back and made his golden coat gleam with perspiration. Little time past since her whinny and the moment his amber pools first spotted the multi-hued vixen pacing within the confides of shade. Without the usual moment of hesitation he proceeded to toss his head up let out a returning call to show his presence. No need to waltz right by her without her knowing and scare the poor femme. Now without worry of startling her he strode toward her lithe frame with the hintings of a pleasant smile tugging at his features. "Hello, m'lady," he greeted with tact as he let his occs stray to her invitingly warm green lanterns, hoping that his nondescript greeting would suffice her. Though only time would tell if she wouldn't mind his simplistic approach, and if he should have taken the seemingly haughty approach of announcing his stature at first glance. Though that wouldn't be Karolek, someone who prided himself in being courteous and kind to all that deserved such.

Midori stopped pacing when she caught a new scent, one of a stallion. She was excited to find the scent, and she tried to stop her pacing and anxiousness. This was what she had been waiting for - someone who might understand her powers, and befriend her. She could feel the stallions eyes watching her, then hear his call. She stopped her pacing and turned her head to look at him as he approached her. Her melting Brown eyes sweeped over his graceful figure, admiring every perfect curve to his body. "Hello, M'lord," She said, thinking such gracefulness must belong to a quite powerful one. The way he looked and smelled and moved made her feel quite dull. "Do you think you could help me? I am quite unsure of where I am, and where I belong, for that fact." She chose her words carefully, but feeling that he did know how to help her. She felt very warm in what seemed like extreme heat to her, at least compared to her old home. Maybe he could tell her where the nearest lake or river was. She would ask that after for sure.

Feeling her orbs slowly gaze over his features he felt it feasible to do the same to her. Amber occs took in the beautiful features of her pelt, how the two hues blended together impeccably. Black and white swirling together even into the tips of her cords. She was quite a beauty with her lithe frame undeniably inherited from Arabian lineage. Though as of so far she didn't seem to have the cliche firey personality of one and for that he was grateful. Upon her returned greeting he supposed he should supply his name for the beautiful fae, not wanting to sound impersonal. "My calling is Karolek, may I hear yours?" he asked with innocent curiousity infiltrating his warm words. He still didn't voice his true stature and reign of the great Kingdom of Druugroot. He trusted for her to sense his err of authority by other things then outward words. Such as the way he held himself tall no matter how much shorter she was then his rather tall frame. He knew eventually he'd have to push past his humbleness and let her know exactly who he was, but until then he needn't worry about such a meager thing.
More of her lyrics reached his auds as she asked for his help, in quite a peculiar fashion. He hadn't met an equine that didn't know of the place they had wandered to, but he supposed there was a first time for anything. "You are in Nyore Valley, the land of the elementals. I am leader over all others of our earthen kin, though where you belong, m'lady, depends solely on yourself," he offered pushing through the feelings that he was being too forward and answering her question directly. If she wished to go with another earthern stallion then he would leave her to decide for herself. He made a mental note, however, to meet the new stallions who had chosen to reside in his land. He was pretty easy-going, but he was still ruling over them and wanted to make sure he didn't have some crazy on his hands. They would surely want to meet their King anyway. A few other earth stags had wandered into his lands and claimed themselves a small part and he would give the femme the free will to meet them first if she wished as such, though she was more then welcome to come back to the main, larger part of Druugroot which he reigned solely over.

The sun continued to beat down on her black and white pelt. Midori listened to his question, then answered, "I am Midori. Very pleased to meet you, Karolek." She bowed her head slightly, greeting him. Then she listened once again as he answered her question. She had been sure he was a leader of some sort - it was just the grandness that seemed to surround him. "May I come with you to your home?" She asked. She needed a home. There was no sense in wandering for her life. Maybe she could relax, and learn more about her kind. "Also, do you know where a lake might be?" She asked. "I am not used to such warm weather." She said, remembering the heat that seemed extreme to her. It was going to be hard to adjust to the hot summers of this place.

As the ess gave her name and the corresponding bow of respect he nodded in acceptance and parted his veneers to speak a few words. "As with you, Midori," he replied ever so simply. He still awaited her response to his offer of residence within his land, no matter if it was conceal between superfluous words or not. And as she responded he was pleased to find she was smart enough to read between his words and find the offer that hid beneath. "Of course, I will lead you to Druugroot, my home and kingdom, he said with a smile and was about to start towards Druugroot with powerful strides by his ebon stilts. Though more words left the pretty fae's plush and he waited to acknowledge them before he turned to lead her to his kingdom. "A lake? I'm afraid not, though there is a river that runs its length in the canyon. I know a couple spots where the waters rush is weak enough to wade in to cools oneself off," he explained, in case she was hoping for more then just a simple lap of aqua.
Now turning as he was previously he started the short journey back to his land, though in a slow enough pace for her to follow with ease. "The summers are harsh here, what environment were you birthed in that this is foreign to you?" he inquired with nothing but innocent curiousity, and to keep an awkward silence from coming between them. While he didn't mind silence, he found that most mares find it awkward and uncomfortable and he didn't want this femora to experience that. Still continuing his steady strides he awaited a response from the fae, letting his mind drift into needless thoughts before bringing himself back to the present and repeating, his surroundings nothing but a blur as he focused only on the marbled femme.

Midori listened to his answers. Midori was happy to be able to go with him. And was relieved to hear about the river. There was bareley a pause as she followed the powerful stallion before he asked her a question. "Oh yes, these summers are very extreme compaired to what I'm used to,"She answered. "The temperatures weren't even half as high where I used to live," She said. "There was always a few days of rain, and our rivers and lakes never dried up," She went on. "I only left because I felt I needed a taste of adventure, and I needed to find more about my kind - with these powers, that is." She pasued for a second. "I am hoping you might know something about these powers, perhaps?" She continued to talk. She felt quite content despite the heat.

Continuing his powerful strides he listened intently as the multihued dove spoke of her previous home, explaining how the weather was much cooler and rain more abundant. He nodded, not interrupting her flow of words and was momentarily distracted by a sudden drop of aqua splashing upon his gleaming coat. Was it rain coming to prove the femme wrong, that these lands do, in fact, receive the rains refreshing blessings once in a while. More raindrops fell onto his hide and the surroundings also. His harks twisted as they picked up the sound of the drops splashing onto the dehydrated ground, sucking every drop of water within its holds to finally satisfy its thirst.
"Hah, the heavens seem to want to prove you wrong. It does rain here also, though the heat is undeniably sickening," he chuckled softly, continuing to listen as she explained she she had left her homeland. For adventure, interesting. The reason he left...well that was a long story best forgotten. "Of course, Midiori. Have I forgotten to mention that I am the earth king?" he inquired, trying to remember if he had mentioned that or not. He could have sworn he did, but then again it wouldn't be something foreign to him to have just mistaken himself.
The rainfall was quite refreshing, lessening the strength of the heat somewhat as thick clouds covered its bulk and heavens aqua continued to drip down. His pace remained the same, feeling no urgency to escape the rainfall but rather enjoying it. He stole a glance in Midiori's direction to see whether she relished it also or felt differently. He knew some femme's hated the rain with a passion, claiming it ruined their coat or some sort of rubbish. Sure a torrential downpour was never a pleasant experience, but this was a mere summer drizzle. Nothing to be worried about unless the booming threats of thunder were heard by his attentive harks.
