ATLANTA and we all freaked out what a shame that only tears know how to remind us we all break the same
Inhale. The femme felt the air run through her veins, this was not her element but it helped her survive. A sigh escaped her ebon mug, it was a stark contrast to the rest of her ivory pelt. Her harks flicked to and fro listening to the sound of a near by stream, water, also not her element, but vital to her existence. Nares flared upon her slightly dished cranium, the scent of heavy smoke burned her lungs, fire, somewhere off in the distance it was burning its way through something, fertilizing the ground. Earth, it surrounded the femme as she gazed around with amethyst and sapphire orbs, sparkling like jewels in the morning light. Earth, her element, it could not survive without the other element, none could survive without the other. So why was there fighting and rivalry? Beacuse good cannot exist without bad? A whinny full of questioning was emmited from the fae's maw, it echoed, seemingly lost in the world. Just like her.

¦lost 'til you're found¦
Obsidian hued daggers danced in place, leaving marks in the soft soil below. For once it was a truly sunny day, there was no sign of rain and hopefully it would stay as so. A few wisps of clouds still resided in the sky, but they weren't heavy with rain and so the buckskin stallion didn't consider them a threat. A sudden breeze whipped his tassels 'round, letting them tangle and fly about in various ways. He snorted, crown snapping upward as his hooves continued to move excitedly.
¦swim 'til you drown¦
His enthusiasm started to lessen, and he realized that he better take advantage of the nice weather. Stilts carried him toward the field before he could even comprehend what he was doing. As King he needed followers, but he didn't take pride in claiming. Even the thought of it wasn't a pleasant one. Though he knew he needn't force claim anyone, after all most mares in the area wanted to call somewhere a home. And if he was fortunate enough to find a mare of his element then all would be fine.
¦know that we all fall down¦
Karolek's pace was only of a slow trot, and he decided to quicken it lest the clouds decided to abruptly roll in and bring the dreaded rain. His stilts moved quickly, lengthening into a decent gallop that left a trail of dust and dirt behind him. He found himself in the vicinity of the field quite quickly, and so he left the rest up to his orbs. Twin amber pools inspected the area closely, leaving no space unlooked upon. Before they could catch the mare though, his auds perked at the sound of a whinny echoing off in the barrenness that surrounded them.
¦love 'til you hate¦
Boa whipped in the direction the sound originated from, orbs catching a sudden glimpse of ivory. He moved closer a few paces, trying to catch her scent as to what element she contained. The familiar scent of earth wafted in his nares, and without another thought he moved in closer enough for her own orbs to reach him. "Hello," he called out in a pleasant greeting, now halting his movement a few paces away from the chalky femme. "My calling is Karolek, may I ask yours?" he asked regrettably. This seemed too familiar, like he used the same approach to to every new equine he met. Though he pondered it would be hard to carry on a conversation without the pleasantries it carried off from. Tassel switched nervously, though otherwise he stood relativly still as he awaited her reply.

ATLANTA and we all freaked out what a shame that only tears know how to remind us we all break the same
This frustration that enveloped the minx filled her from hark to hoof. She pushed it down though, into the back of her mind for later pondering. She liked to dwell on thoughts and philosophies, but she wouldn't tell that to just anyone, no, she wasn't the kind of mare to put everything out there, actually she didn't give anything away most times. She had developed a wall over time and it surrounded her, filtering her words and actions carefully, waiting for the right equine to figure her out and allow her to be herself.
A sound caught the temptresses attention--hoof beats. She let her violet blue optics survey the lands, a figure suddenly throwing itself into her direct line of vision. The stag was the color of the sandy shores with ebonite tassles. The musk that wafted off of his pelt was heavy with the earthen element, one of her kin, but his was stronger, she could see that from the aura that surrounded him. Was he the earth king? It was true that the royals had the strongest bending abilities, and it had been a long time since she's felt such a powerful presence. Hello his vocals were caught in her harks My calling is Karolek, may I ask yours? She looked at him, studying him.
You may, it is Atlanta. May I ask how you possess such a high level of power? It has been years since I've come across one such as yourself, and he was a king.
She dipped her crown to a respectable level before bobbing back up to look him in the eye.

¦lost 'til you're found¦ Small pebbles scattered outward from underneath the tawny King, his focus on forcing away all the earthen objects in the small vicinity around him. A small twitch overcame his body, as he attempted to refrain from becoming impatient. He had always thought of himself as an patient equine, though he struggled with the periods of silence between shared words between another and himself. As he was doing currently, relinquishing his attempt at staying still and already making small movements otherwise called fidgeting.
¦swim 'til you drown¦
Thankfully her pleasant lyrics came quickly, and the tension that had resided Karolek's earthen frame lessened. Atlanta, the word echoed lightly in his perked auds, almost leaving the rest of her words unheard. Though he still caught them, even if they were so low they almost floated away on the light spring breeze. "Atlanta," he spoke softly, almost a mumble of sorts. Only repeating only what his auds had heard clearly a few moments ago. He swished his tail again, for no reason other then to feel the movement and possibly untangle some of his strands.
¦know we all fall down¦
"Well, I am also a King," he answered simply, for lack of better words. He was far from haughty, though he couldn't think of better lyrics to spill that would sound any better. "Ruler over Druugroot, the Earth Kingdom," he furthered, leaving no room for confusion over the matter. His orbs inspected the femme curiously, watching for her reaction. "You are fortunate to meet another like ourselves in your journeys, I hadn't met one before I discovered this valley," he continued, though he was finished for now. He wasn't an stallion of many words, and saying this much in such a sort time span was a feat not to be taken lightly.

Golden daggers took a step forward, her ivory pelt becoming speckled with bits of light from the sun. She eyed the brujo noting that he seemed uncomfortable..almost--fidgeting. She held back a chuckle, and continued to rest her eyes upon the golden stag.
She had vocalized her name and a simple but slightly complex question towards the hession. Well, I am also a King, Ruler over Druugroot, the Earth Kingdom so she had been right. He was the earthen King...it had been many years she had been away and it seemed that the rulings had changed. She chose not to bow as it seemed the stag preferred not to parade his title around like some badge, he seemed more modest You are fortunate to meet another like ourselves in your journeys, I hadn't met one before I discovered this valley. she offered a smile and nodded her cranium at his words.
Aye, but when your travels are many M'lord you meet all types of beasts and encounter all walks of magic.
her lyrics were soft but audible. She held his gaze, wondering if he would reply to that or not.
Now pray tell m'lord Karolek, what in goddess name would the earth king be doing here in the claiming grounds? Have things changed this much in my absence?

¦lost 'til you're found¦ An insect landed on Karolek's dirt caked hide, only to be warded off by his oncoming whipcord that swatted it away. He snorted in light annoyance, though he shortly turned his crown back around to face the fae that stood before him. She stepped a pace forward, and he did the same. The distance between them lessening to become now only a pace at most. He continued to swat his blackened tassel at a few stray flies that continued to attack his body, persistent being an understatement.
¦swim 'til you drown¦
Soft lyrics soon flowed from the ivory coated mare, and he received them with a nod. Words entered his mouth, but he decided to refrain from saying them. There would be no need to correct her assumptions, she was entitled to her own opinions after all. "Don't be fooled Atlanta," the words slipped out before he could retract them. Hadn't he decided to not speak those words a few moments ago? He snorted at his sudden lack of self control, but decided to he might as well finish speaking his thoughts aloud now.
¦know we all fall down¦
"I have had my fair shares of travel also," the lyrics still seemed harsh to his sensitive auds, so he decided to lighten them up a bit before finishing. "You were just in all the right places and I was not," he finally finished with a small chuckle. Surprisingly happy with how the last words had sounded his maw finally formed a smile as he now patiently waited to see if she would speak more lyrics for his twin hawks to pick up.
¦love 'til you hate¦
She was here before, the surprising thoughts echoed in his crown. The legends spoke that this valley had been empty after the ancients left more then a hundred years ago. He stared at her with curious amber orbs, trying to discern her age. She didn't look old, not in the least. Maybe only a few years his junior was all, he tilted his head marginally to the side in silent confusion.
¦jump 'til you break¦
"How else would I attain my followers?" he answered simply to her first question. It wasn't a complicated inquire, though to him it was meaningless. Her latter question did leave him in wonder though, and he decided he better vocally address his curiosity or else he wouldn't ever forgive himself. "Your absence? You've wandered in these lands prior to your standing here currently?"

ATLANTA and we all freaked out what a shame that only tears know how to remind us we all break the same
She gazed at him, her violet blue pools becoming flat and emotionless as he spoke Don't be fooled Atlanta, though she was sure it was not meant as an insult it just didn't quite make sense, what was she not to be fooled about.
I am not one to be fooled m'lord so you needn't worry about that
her vocals were steady and a bit too harsh, she had a tendency to be quick witted and it often made friends into enemies.
Forgive my sharp tongue as it often gets ahead of my mind
that was odd, Atlanta didn't normally apologize for lashing out and this surprised her but he was speaking again, leaving her no time to contemplate this. I have had my fair shares of travel also...You were just in all the right places and I was not she moved her pools so that they were gazing straight into his, a small smirk graced her maw.
then you should consider yourself lucky m'lord Karolek to not have been in the places I have.
she stopped herself, this was not like her at all, first she was apologizing and now this...she mentally bit her tongue. It was not that she didn't want anyone to know her past, it was that she didn't trust others and it seemed that her tongue was loose today.
How else would I attain my followers? she watched him scrutinize her with a glint of curiosity and it was then she realized her other slip. our absence? You've wandered in these lands prior to your standing here currently?
Aye m'lord I have but only passing through but that is not what I meant...I meant...forget it.
she couldn't begin to explain it to him, nor did she trust him enough to try. She looked away wishing she could take her words back.

¦lost 'til you're found¦ Soft orbs watched the mysterious mare intently, discovering her unique violet orbs for the first time since their meeting. That led him to more searching, to see if anything else was different about this mare. Could she be some sort of chosen one? Immortal perhaps? Or was this all a dream? Thoughts scrambled across his crown, though he paid them no heed. His mind was still in the conversation, and he trained it to stay there for now.
¦swim 'til you drown¦
Ah, he thought as her sharp lyrics entered his auditories. Well if she wasn't going to go through the trouble to dull her words then why should he? He snorted, dusty dagger pounding the earth in show of his current state of mind. Though his twin spires picked up more of her words, ones that were more of a softened state. Was that an apology? He had only just met her, yet this was a slight shock to his system. Maybe a new approach was necessary? He pondered this, though decided to wait for more of her musical notes before speaking. She hadn't even responded to his most important question yet.
¦know we all fall down¦
Karolek continued to recall her formers words when new ones were uttered, ones that led a foggy path to her past perhaps? Though she stopped sort, only indicating that her history wasn't a pleasant one. He himself was blessed with a relatively normal journeys through his years. Though he wasn't so naive to think that others were just like him, of course some experienced many more shortcomings then him. That didn't make them any better or worse, only different. So he had no response to call out and remained silent.
¦love 'til you hate¦
Atlanta's last words were of the most importance. And while the King was calm and fair, he didn't expect ones to retract their words to him. She had her fair right to keep secrets from a practical stranger, but she would be callow if she would think a King would just forgot about her curious words that might have great meaning.
¦jump 'til you break¦
"I do not make a habit of forgetting things, and I won't make an exception for you. Finish your words," he spoke his lyrics not in a harsh manner, though far from a soothing one also. He spoke them with authority and strength, for he was King. The femme might not be his in the literal sense yet, mostly for the fact he was not like that. But she was of earth heritage and in the claiming lands, and he was King. It was far from a complicated matter.

I do not make a habit of forgetting things, and I won't make an exception for you. Finish your words the last the words rang out in her head, the rest were blurred and unimportant. Those four syllables set something off in the ess, and she felt a fiery defiance grow in her voids but it soon glinted out as she gazed at the hellion replaced with a guarded look. She didn't like to be forced to do anything and it went against everything she had suffered through. trust no one a voice in the back of her mind whispered. Her feelings were torn as this eternal conflict waged on, the earth shook a bit beneath her, nothing major, just a small little rumble. How she wished she could split the ground and show just how torn she was. Her gaze was averted downward as she studied the foliage. A breeze came through tousling her chains, her forelock fell over her left eye as she gazed up at him.
This way of living
her voice was barely a whisper but she felt it echo through the trees and once it settled everything was quiet again...and she hated it.

¦lost 'til you're found¦
Karolek knew his words weren't of the kindest sort, and she didn't seem like the type that would take that sort of talk very well. His thoughts were confirmed when he felt a small rumble beneath his stilts, making him widen his stance to balance himself back out. He could have counteracted her actions, though he figured it best he let her get it all out so maybe she would in fact answer his question. Silence still was thick in the air, but he continued to wait as patiently as possible. The convulsions of the ground lessened, not that it was very dangerous in the start. Her orbs glared at him, but then turned to stare at the steady earth again. Something he found quite particular.
¦swim 'til you drown¦
He started to wonder if she would even heed his words after all, but then her soft verses sliced through the quiet air even if they were barely audible. He tried to listened carefully, to catch each syllable that slipped off her tongue so lightly. Unfortunately her words were few and nothing of importance. He wondered if those four words were actually what she was planning to say, and he doubted it, but didn't take make a big deal of itl. There was no need to be angry, and he only steadied his gaze on hers, not adverting it even for a seconds time. He didn't know what kept her from speaking the truth, and he didn't think anymore of his unnecessary harsh words would help.
¦know we all fall down¦
"I suppose I owe you my own apology," he murmured, but failed to follow through with his offer. He flicked his darkened tassel, trying to think of the right words to speak to the dusty vixen. "Would you care to elaborate?" he offered, though he changed his tone to sound less harsh then it had before. He didn't mean to be cruel or uncaring, the right lyrics just wouldn't come to him on this sunny day. He sighed, wishing that he could take the words back but he knew that would be impossible. Instead he only nickered, a vocalization barely audible yet it was tailored to become the apology he never uttered.

She stood facing him, her visionaries glued to his. She let her eyelids slide shut as she became overwhelmed with emotions and feelings. She was to tired to hold up her guard to this stag. Her eyes opened and she allowed him and the rest of the world to see the raw emotions that brewed deep inside of her. There was pain and loss, confusion, mistrust, love, betrayal, grief, hope, suffering, brokenness, and defeat and it all shone clear as day in her violet blue voids.
I suppose I owe you my own apology she was surprised by this but didn't have the strength to react she simply waited, but no apology came, just a question. Would you care to elaborate? she bowed her head and shook it.
I do not trust you yet m'lord.

¦lost 'til you're found¦
Regret was evident on his defeated face, for he had no idea what had gotten into him this brightened day. His mood was supposed to be lifted when the sun finally shown its face, though for some reason his words got ahead of him. Those same despicable words that had brought him to face this situation he planted himself in now. A snort would usually bring himself back to the conversation, though he found no reason to make another vocalization until she did.
¦swim 'til you drown¦
Karolek was normally a very quiet equine, not speaking lest it be called for. Though he felt it quite odd that the words escaped him as so on this specific day, he didn't feel it quite important. Thoughts had wandered, though they were brought back to the pearl hued fae as he felt her peerless orbs on his. Various emotions showed through them, and he tried to focus in on them but her lyrics brought his concentration to an end.
¦know we all fall down¦
"What should I do to gain said trust, M'lady?" he asked, trying to use his own formalities to seem more polite. To show that he wasn't full of all harsh words, and he still was a gentlemen at heart. If only he could control his verses with more precision. His tawny audit twitched in awaitance of her response, to see if his new approach would be of better luck then his failed attempts before.

Most would have turned from her and left by now. Many saw her as hopeless case, not worth the time it would take to understand her and gain her trust. She kept her cranium bowed her harks flicking, listening for retreated hoof beats but when none came she looked up and saw Karolek his eyes reflecting what looked like regret. Her dial lifted and she looked at him again.
No words came to mind as she looked at stag, she studied him, looking deep into his amber hued orbs, waiting for him to break the silence. What should I do to gain said trust, M'lady? she blinked, not sure how to answer the question.
No one has ever taken time to try so I suppose the fact that you are willing to try is a good step towards it. I suppose the rest shall come in time...that is if you're willing to try.

¦lost 'til you're found¦
The rust hued stag stood quietly, audits attentive in awaiting for her responding verses. A wispy breeze wafted through the light air, teasing his coaled shaded banner as it blew the ebon into various shapes and forms. He shook his boa softly in attempt to gain control of his tresses once again and let out a silent sigh. After his slight distraction he focused back on the shadeless femme who stood tentatively before him. He pondered if she was ever going to break down, let him know what was going through her head. He had only his instincts to guide him that she wasn't a threat. For all his logical thinking only brought him to the conclusion the secret she was withholding was a dangerous one, and everything else was only a mask. But the instinctual side of him spoke she was just another harmless fae.
¦swim 'til you drown¦
"Of course. Though does that mean you're planning to stay around for a while?" he asked curiously. The way she acted led Karolek to believe she wished she was somewhere else. Had she been on her way to somewhere else and only wandered here on accident? It was quite possible, but her last words contradicted that train of thought. He always hated to be so direct as to ask someone to stay in his lands, but he knew a King was not to be shy. Though at the same time he didn't want to act naive and claim someone that didn't wish to be so. Tassel flicked in relative annoyance, though not so much as for Atlanta but rather for agitation at himself.

She watched as he shook his banner back into place. He seemed to lose his concentration for a moment before turning back to her. She wondered what he was thinking as he wasn't easy for her to read, he had his own shield it seemed, one of silence with an air of mystery and it intrigued her.
Of course. Though does that mean you're planning to stay around for a while? she looked at him for a moment, contemplating this question in her cerebrum. She realized that she did want to stay, that this is where she belonged, in this world of elements. She let a small smile play across her features, it felt foreign as she hadn't smiled in a long while.
I suppose it does. I'm finding that I enjoy your company a bit.
