The summer heat left a burning feeling as I steadily glided behind Karolek, my flints hitting the ground in a fast rhythm. Sweat rolled down my haunches as I walked, and my breathing was heavy in the sun, only dirt below my daggers. A dust cloud flew up into my face, and I snorted quietly.
~
I slowed my pace a little, getting tired, but I quickly sped back up as to not get too far behind Karolek. He was bringing me to his herd lands, where I would be liveing as a herd mare of the Earth Kingdom. I didn't know if there was any other mares, but if there were, I hoped to get to know them.
~
I was usually lonely, not really minding company, but not wanting to stay with people that were annoying or too-friendly. I liked my peace and quiet, but company was appreciated when needed. I felt our pace slow down, and I guessed we were here, to Druugroot.

Muscles rippled underneath the tawny pelt that concealed them as the King led the beautifully dappled femme to his Kingdom and land of reign, Druugroot. It wasn't the easiest of treks, especially not in the heat of the day. And for this he suffered greatly, and supposed Arina did too. The harsh suns rays beat against his back mercilessly as his hide began to glimmer from the abundant amount of perspiration. Starting to venture uphill he felt the distinct change of terrain, from the cushion of greenery to the harsh clash of obsidians against rocken floor. They were nearing his land and he instinctively lifted his tired boa to stand erect and appear alert. Amber pools scanned the horizon for any sign of his mares grazing in the open field above his canyon. Though none were to be found, and he supposed they had wandered within the confides of the twists and turns of the canyon.
Crown snapped backward to steal a glance of the vixen who seemed to be faithfully trudging along in the dead heat of summer. Though her coat too shined of sweat along with small particles of dust and dirt clinging to her innocent hide. "Welcome to my home and area of reign, Druugroot," he spoke warmly and gave a sweeping gesture with his nape and crown to signify the extent of his land. He surveyed the distance one more time with his curious occs before stopping his strides and turning to face her. "I'm afraid the other mares that reside her are somewhere within the canyon. I can call them if you like," he offered with a glance toward one of the trails in the distance that lead into the depths of the canyon.
A slash of ebon threads hit his slick hide to ward off incoming pestilence that aimed to suck him of an much needed substance. Trying to decide what verses to let escape his maw next, the stag stirred the previously calm dirt that he stood upon. Swirling around his flints he made the cloud of dust and dirt expand to encompass Arina too, letting her feel the the weak scrape of dirt against her pasterns as a smile tugged at the edges of his maw. "When did you first learn of your bending powers?" he inquired curiously. Yes, it was probably sad to resort to small talk but how else was she suppose to find out more about her then to ask questions? And he was genuinely interested in her, as he was with each and every one of his mares.
OoC||It's alright, I should've created the thread anyway. But for future reference, even if you're just trying to get a quick post out please keep it at least ten sentences. You were very close with nine, I just wanted to remind you ^^.

My flints clashed against the granite as the terrains changed and Karolek's boa lifted, mine following his action to scan the horizon, and sweep my vision over the glebe where I was expecting to see the other herd mares. My nares breathed out softly, my body relaxing at the sight of the canyon walls and rocky home that I remembered from long ago. I took a fairly deep breath, the smell of the canyon was like seeing my home again.
~
My soft pelt was sleek with sweat, and flakes of dirt had been thrown onto my coat as well, making it sticky and uncomfortable. I would be grateful for shade, though canyons usually provided much shade for a whole herd of horses, so no worries about that. Karolek's face peeked back at me, checking on me as we treaded the gravel, getting closer to the entrance's of the canyon, and the slope leading up to the grazing lands. Karolek's soft lyrics echoed a little through the canyon walls ahead of us, smiling I set my orbs on him and followed the sweep of his crown.
~
My pillars came to a halt a short distance behind the Earth King, his cranium being tossed to the side to look at me and speak, which I replied with a shake of my head. "I can meet the other mares later, but for now I would like to know where the nearest source of shade is. This canyon is beautiful, it reminds me of home," I trailed off into my thoughts and pictures of my home canyon, or I should say former home canyon. I now resided in Nyore Valley, with the Earth King's herd.
~
My ribbons swished and flicked at the flying leeches, landing upon my hide, and leaving the itchy feeling to linger there for a long while. My blond tassels were tossed to relive my skin of the plastering strands, my boa thankful for the air that brushed against the skin. It was these times that I wish I could bend air, or maybe water, to cool the sweating limbs that stood erect behind Karolek.
~
The stallion played with the dirt below his flints, the cloud of dirt particles climbing up his hocks and then expanding to touch mine as well. I snorted playfully, feeling a breeze brush my pelt, and push up another cloud of dust from the earth's crust. I embraced that one, taking control of it and leading it to weave through the king's pillars, and climbing up one of them to cover his pelt, and vanish into thin air.
~
The stag spoke again as we toyed with the dirt, like little yearlings who just learned to do simple things with our bending skills. I sighed contently, staring at the swirling pattern as I spoke in my clam, pleasant voice. "I was born and raised as a wild horse in a canyon similar to this one, but I traveled far away from the humans, who were taking the canyon horses captive. I traveled far enough to get to Nyore Valley, and soon discovered my bending skills, and experimented with them. I'm still not an expert bender, but I'm pretty good with basic things." I let a smile cross my face, sending another cloud of particles to curl around Karolek's nape and twist around, then disappear.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC|| Ah, I didn't realize the number of sentences I did, since I usually do 5 or more paragraphs so I don't check my sentence numbers xD And I was in understanding that I was supposed to start the thread, but I'm easily confused. Was it you or I who was supposed to start it? [/i]

Amber pools gazed downward, watching the small cloud of dirt and dust waft between his stilts and then playfully sweep over to tickle the dappled dove's limbs also. Occulars snapped upward and back to focus on Arina as she replied to his question uttered a few moments ago. "Ah, yes I agree. The heat this time of year is quite dreadful," he remarked and let his body faithfully move in the direction of a lone tree in the direction, sticking out like a sore thumb in the otherwise level terrain. Skirting the canyons edge he shifted his direction away from its comforts to reach said the tree and with only a few more powerful strides he glided within its cooling confides. "And thank you, yes it does have its moments of beauty though occasionally marred by the dangers present with living in such an terrain," he voiced, his voice nonchalant and not sugar-coating anything. If she grew up in a canyon she knew of the rockfalls and sudden drop offs and slippery paths, not to mention such common things as thunderstorms and duststorms. He was fortunate not to have to deal with a death as of yet while reigning over this dangerous terrain, though when first claiming this canyon he had found himself in quite a few close calls himself. With careful exploring and a watchful eye he had mastered the art of navigating the canyon now though, and he supposed if she was born into such a terrain she would adapt quickly also.
The familiar feeling of his own element climbing up his pinions and washing over his back made a smile crawl upon his expressionless maw, a soft chuckle escaping his closed lips and emitting into the open air for all to hear. "I see, well I'm sure you'll improve with time," he offered with no real reasons for his words, just to keep the conversation flowing. Another cloud of dust twirled around his nape and tickled his hide, shaking his boa in response he let a full laugh encompass his body. Two complete adults toying with the dirt and dust as if they were mere yearlings having a playful competition. That would surely be a funny sight if anothers orbs caught sight of them. Well it was time to kick things up a notch then. Just as before he stirred up a small cloud of various particles and sent them into the open air, though instead of sending them over to tease the dappled femora he sent them into a controlled upward spiral. More and more dust and dirt was mixed up into the spiraling mass before he started to mold it, compressing all the particles into one oval mass floating in midair. The oval soon grew limbs, along with a neck and head and dusty threads to match. In the unmistakable form of an equine he sent it just inches above the ground to circle Arina, brushing against her hide lightly before completely vanishing with the dust and dirt floating back to settle upon the earth.
"I suppose you now expect me to vocalize a glimpse into my own past? Yes it would only be polite," he spoke in a far-away voice, not knowing if he wanted to exactly venture into his own interesting past. Though he would have to learn to not be so affected by such meager things as his foalhood and what better way to push past it then to explain it to practical stranger? Or he could just skirt the topic again and push the memories back down in the voids of his skull. "I was a loner most of my life, learning only from my own experiences and being taught nothing. My earth heritage was foreign to anyone I dared speak to it of, and I can only speculate that one of my ancestors must have been a King of some sort as I am myself. Otherwise I have no explanation for the extent of my abilities and all I've learned has only been by practicing as I roamed the earth searching for the place that constantly tugged at my heart. It led me to Nyore Valley and thus Druugroot, where we stand now," the monarch spoke, gaze unmistakenably far away and not in the least concentrating on Arina as it should have. No matter how much he divulged to the fae, it was still not even the tip of the iceburg and for now he planned to keep that iceburg to himself to dwell on and no-one else. If given the choice he didn't even want to have to deal with the thoughts and memories of his past. It wasn't as if it was so dreaded that it pained him to speak of it, he just didn't want to be pitied. He didn't want others to be able to pick apart his foalhood and use it as an 'excuse' how he might act a certain way or speak certain words. His past, though not disturbing, was not normal and he just plain and simple wanted to forget it. Simple, eh? Not really.
OoC||It's fine, I was just giving you a reminder =). And I think you were originally going to do it, but you lost muse or didn't have time so I was suppose to but just never got around to it x3. Oh, and sorry if this post is incredibly...LONG. haha. My muse got carried away x3.
