Thoughts whirled through her head as she stood at the border of Druugroot, the one place she had felt safe. She let her eyes wander in the fading twilight, noting that not much had changed in the weeks she had been gone. Her nares flared, tasting the carbon, catching the woodsy, earthy scent of Karolek, the scent she had missed every second in her absence.
She recalled the night she left. No one knew she had left, she uttered no goodbye, simply vanished in the night. She left because she needed time to reflect on her feelings, and every moment she prayed that Karolek was safe and happy, though she was scared he would be angry with her, or perhaps he would act differently towards her. If that was so then her revelation would be meaningless, but she would have to grin and bare it.
Whilst away she had come to conclusion that the strange tug in her heart could only be love, she loved the sandy colored stag with her entire being and would gladly give her life for him. This was a new feeling her her however, not one she was used to in any degree. But it was love that pushed her away, and love that brought her back, and now it was love that made her cross back into the lands she held so dear in heart. She whinnied into the twilight, calling out for Karolek.

Anxiousness was an emotion very familiar to the tawny King, something that was completely known to just about all members of his herd no matter how much he tried to keep it hidden. And for the past few weeks he had been completely and utterly distraught, basically at an all time high. For the same alabaster maiden that had nearly been maimed by that loathing stallion had - without warning - suddenly disappeared. The first few days was just a nightmare, the thought of sleep nonexistent. He yearned in all his heart to just leave his homeland and scour the entire valley for her, but he had the rest of his mares to care for and that would be entirely unacceptable. So he just waited, keeping a steady amber eye on the horizon at all times but otherwise trying to the best of his ability to be the normal calm and collected Karolek.
Now as the great stag trotted along the very edge of his territory his thoughts once again wandered to Atlanta, his occs focused on the setting sun once again. He wasn't angry at her, if anything he was angry at himself. Either she was forced to leave - and then he would never forgive himself for being so incredibly stupid. Or she left because she wanted to - and then again he failed at being a leader. That was just the way his mind worked, but no matter how irritated he was at himself he would never be to her. Even though he constantly struggled with the thought that she might mean more to him then just a herd mare, it wasn't until her absence that he actually thought the simple word within his head. He loved her. There was no doubt about it and it was impossible to deny it, even though he sure put up a good fight. And again it was his fault for not letting her know early, instead he had sheltered his true feelings and emotions as he found himself so oftenly doing. That would have to change, whether she came back or not
The startling sound of a whinny in the distance brought his attention back to the present, his spires perking to accommodate the sudden sound. Once it swirled around in his cranium for a seconds time he realized it was within his boundaries and quickened his pace so he would face the intruder or whoever it might be. As he drew closer to the equine their scent wafted into his delicate nasal passages, signaling to him the scent was familiar yet neglected for the past few weeks. Atlanta, he thought with a sudden burst of speed that closed the distance between them with lengthening strides. Could it be? Yes it could! As the lithe figure came into view his amber occs could not deny that it was Atlanta finally returning to Druugroot. Inescapable smile crowded his features as he halted movement in front of her alabaster physique, his attention focused fully on her. "You came back," he managed to force out of his awestruck maw. He was surprised even those words came out without being stumbled and so he remained quite so as to not risk acting like a complete fool.
OoC||I would normally say 'sorry this isn't that great, my next one will be better,' but I'm not sure it will be XD. My muse has started to stumble, but usually just keeping up with my threads anyhow brings it up so we'll see x3. If you ever need me to re-do any of my post just let me know, there will be no hard feelings [though there might be a wait! I'm notoriously slow] ^^.

She stood just over the boundary line of Druugroot staring at the masses of orange rock and bits of green grass scattered in places. She waited, wondering if perhaps she hadn't been heard, but then the sound of hoof falls echoed in her harks, rumbling the earth beneath her. Then she saw him, rising from behind the hill like the golden sun. Her breathe caught in her chest as he neared. As he came to a halt before her she looked him over with her violet blue pools. It was obvious he hadn't slept in a long while, and she knew in the pit of her stomach that it was her doing. She felt guilt swell her heart and distort her face as he uttered those words. "You came back," she managed to nod
I...I'm so sorry Karolek, I won't bore you with the reasons why I left because all that matters is that I shouldn't have left in the first place, of course had I not left I may not have come back with the epiphany that fills my head...and yet her I stand babbling on about what could have or have not happened...I'm so so so sorry M'lord
She stopped talking realizing that she was getting nowhere but circles. She just stood and gazed at him.

Amber occulars stared unwaveringly at the alabastar maiden, his spires already perked to accommodate her lyrics that would surely come soon and so they did. Even before she spoke her apology he accepted it, the only thing that mattered to him as of now was that she was back. Cheesy, yes. Cliche, yes. But it was the truth. Every babbled word she spewed her listened to intently, even the concluding repetitions of her apology he did not take for granted and ignore. She was home, finally. He needn't have anymore sleepless nights and worried days, he could finally return to normal. Though would that be even possible, he had felt different the day the vix stepped foot into his life. Her wise words, calming demeanor and overall personality just lifted his heart whenever his thoughts strayed to her. Could the small tugs at his heart and enthrallment with the femora be more then that of a herd member?
"I enjoy your babblings," he said with smile overwhelming his features. She was back. Boa dipped down somewhat for his soft velveteens to brush against her ivory crown in a comforting manner. His way of saying he wholeheartedly accepted her apology without having to speak the words. Maybe he shouldn't forgive so easily, though for her he didn't know how to not. Karolek enjoyed the fleeting moment of their touch before pulling back as his mind forced words to flee his trap. "Though I'd quite like to hear about this epiphany," he asked with sudden curiousity. It was quite obvious she had left of her own free will, and came back as so. Though why? If she left she mustn't have been happy, so why return? Sigh escaped ebon mug as he contemplated these thoughts as he fought with internal dealings. Why must everything be so complicated with him?

She gazed upon Karolek, watching for a reaction of some kind. As her violet blue pools rested on him, she felt a swell in her heart that had seemed so long gone. She smiled as he smiled, electricity ran through her being as he touched her dial, reassuring, steady, she wished he hadn't broken the touch. His voice filled her mind as she watched his mug form the words. Though I'd quite like to hear about this epiphany, She thought about this for a moment, wonder how she could tell him.
Well, I should start off by telling you why I left. After I told you about my past I felt scared, that you wouldn't want me, that you wouldn't treat me the same, and it was foolish. But I've heard that home is where the heart is and when I left I felt empty, my chest, where my heart should be she reached out with her maw and touched his chest pausing and feeling his strong heartbeat, pumping life through his bod she lifted her dome to look at him it was vacant and it ached, so what I'm getting at is, as I was wondering with this empty, hurting wound I knew just where I could find me heart, right where I left it--with you.
She nodded once towards him, hoping he understood that she loved him, that she couldn't bear to be with out him.

The usually impatient stag was itching with anticipation of her vocals, his flints twitching uncontrollably on the rockon ground and creating a soft tapping noise. Was her epiphany similar to his? Though his was more of a realization then an epiphany. From the moment he met her he knew she was someone special, unique in every aspect and one he'd never want to lose. Though he fought these feelings, wanting to keep his focus on 'more important things' and being the greatest King he could be. Then he lost her, and knew that there was more to life then scanning the perimeter every couple hours and staring out at the horizon the remaining moments. He could be a great King, and lead a happy life. Her absence made him realize that, but by then he thought it would be too late. He tried to create better relationships with the other femme's in his herd, and he succeeded. But none of them were Atlanta, and though he gained more happiness and eased up incredibly it still wasn't the amount he'd wished for.
Then she came back, and here she was standing right before him. Once verses hit his awaiting spires he instantly felt his muscles relax from their previous tense state. It wasn't his fault she left, and that was such a relief. Though he found hard to resist interrupting her when she spoke her entirely untrue and preposterous things she thought he had thought about her. If anything he felt privileged for her to trust him enough to tell of her story and slightly disheartened that she would think he was as shallow as that. He fought hard to not interrupt her to say this, and was glad he did when she continued her words. He was starting to feel compelled to resume their touch again when her maw touched his chest, his heart pumping wildly as he let his velvets graze her nape in response.
As she concluded her lyrics he opened his maw to form a response, though only air was exhaled. He was speechless and expected her to confirm the opposite, the thing of his fears. That she would leave again. Though she did not and it made his head go for a whirl. "I have survived with mere minutes of sleep and even pondered leaving everything I have here just to find you, I wouldn't do that if you hadn't left with my heart too. Now that it's been returned along with you, I know I have to ask you something," he voiced taking in a deep breath as sudden panic pounded through his body. This could be the biggest, stupidest, most disappointing and sporadic thing he had done in his entire life as an adult. This was something he had considered, but not thought out and here it was just going to blurt it out like an love-struck idiot.
For pete's sake she had left him and just decided to return on a whim! Though that didn't stop Karolek as his amber occs locked into her exhilarating violet ones as he prepared himself for his next set of words. "Atlanta," again he paused, his conscience begging him to think things out more but he pushed through his wall and forced out the next verse. "Will you be my Queen?" he breathed lowly into her auds, letting his skull brush against her crown of ivory as he took in yet another deep intake of much needed oxygen as he awaited her response.

She didn't mean to make him impatient, she simply had to think out what she was going to say. After the words that had been floating through her mind were spoken she held her breathe, her violet blue voids constantly upon his, watching his reaction. She saw him relax his once tense posture, She watched as he hesitated, as if he hadn't expected what she had said. She stood patiently, her harks focus on him, awaiting his vocals. She stood listening as he spoke, his voice the only thing she allowed herself to hear, she only saw him standing before her. I have survived with mere minutes of sleep and even pondered leaving everything I have here just to find you, I wouldn't do that if you hadn't left with my heart too. Now that it's been returned along with you, I know I have to ask you something, she nodded for him to continue, he seemed to be struggling with himself, as if he were unsure about what he wanted to ask, patient as ever she waited. Atlanta she waited as he paused again, still struggling, he was closer to her now, she felt his breathe in her auds, Will you be my Queen? she exhaled as he touched her tiara, her maw slid up his cheek to his hark.
I Will
She lowered her plush enough to gaze at him, searching for certainty within the depths of his occs.

Waiting, waiting, waiting Karolek was for the vixen's answer to his dreadful question. Though fortunately her answer was swift, and without hesitation or even a glimpse of doubt. The large breath he had been holding suddenly left his lungs and ventured out by way of his maw in a soft puff of breath that brushed past her ivory towers. "Thank you," he voiced in close to a whisper. He wasn't entirely sure what exactly he was grateful for, perhaps for her coming back to him or maybe just for existing in his life in general. All he knew was that the exhilaration and joy filling his cranium was overwhelming, pushing past his barriers and making a large smile pass his velvets. Sliding his maw slowly across her nape he thought of something else to say, to not fall into any dreaded post-question awkwardness. "You will be a great Queen," he murmured, letting the vibrations of his voice echo into her skin.
Truth be told he didn't even know if he had seen her bend the earth to her will, and for a moment he began to doubt himself yet again. But pulling back for a moment so amber occs could revel at the femora that stood before him instantly calmed his unnecessary worries. He needn't worry about her not being a strong Queen, since the moment he set eyes on her she had a sort of aura that he hadn't fully comprehended until now. If her bending powers weren't great as of yet, with a few guided steps he would sure she could almost rival his own powers. It was all about natural-born ability and he could tell, just by the scent of her hide and glint in her pools that she had it. Whether she knew it, was something he'd just have to ask in time. "The summer heat is almost unbearable here. Come, let us venture into the shade of our canyon," he spoke even though truth be told the suns rays beating upon his back was barely noticeable with all the other thoughts swirling about in his cranium. Still, he felt the compulsion to escape the border of his land and go into the comforting canyon, though he patiently waited for her response before letting his flints take over.

She felt him expel the breathe he had been holding, most likely in anticipation of her answer. She felt the small brush against her ear, then his plush was upon her boa. She let a soft sigh escape her lips, his touch was something she had been yearning for since she had left, her lids closed as she let her sense of feeling take over, enjoying this small moment. She felt his words against her hide, You will be a great Queen, she shivered involuntarily, a small chuckle escaped her box.
Ah, Karolek, what is a great queen without a great king beside her? She would be nothing, just as I would without you.
Her words were soft and full of truth and love that coursed through her veins. She watched his eyes, seeing the quick flash of question, replaced by confidence and knowing. Was he questioning his decision? Was he wondering about how she would fair as queen? She didn't voice these questions because he had pacified himself. The summer heat is almost unbearable here. Come, let us venture into the shade of our canyon, his voice rang in her harks. She smiled.
That would be wonderful

Atlanta's gracious words and accompanying chuckle made Karolek's already present smile widen as a laugh of his own escaped his ebon maw. "Ah, I expected you would say something to that effect," he voiced smoothly, knowing that she was not one to pass up an opportunity to express some wise words. A feature almost a complete opposite of his silent nature, though revered all the same. Letting his crown lean in for velveteens to caress the underside of her jaw for no reason other than to touch her again, feeling her smooth pelt beneath his lips. Nares took a deep breath in, though this one was not for fear of what her response to be but rather just to smell the undeniably strong earthen scent that clung to her every feature.
As she responded to his offer to venture to the comforting confines of the canyon he supposed once there it would be wise to call out to his other mares, for them to meet their new Queen. For a moment he let his thoughts drift to wonder how they would react to the sudden announcement, especially after she had been absent for the last few weeks. Though none of this mattered, and as he flints struck the soft cushion of grass that covered the canyons top he stopped his strong strides and turned to face Atlanta with a playful smile crawling onto his mug.
A thick vine suddenly sprouted from the grass, pushing past the short emerald stalks and wrapping itself loosely around the vixen's leg, starting at her flints and spiraling upward to her stifle. He didn't constrict it enough to be painful, that was far from his his goal. Just enough for her to be able to tell what he was doing. "You have seen my abilities before, and this is just a mere reminder of my powers. I haven't seen you practice your abilities, though your earthern scent is strong. Mind the bluntness, but what can you do?" he inquired curiously as the vine suddenly became slack and the ground swallowed it back up.
He didn't mean to pry or seem like he was doubting her, for that wasn't the case. He just thought that a relationship was nothing if not based on honesty, and his dreadful curiousity wouldn't be satisfied until he got an answer also. Slashing his onyx cords against his marred skin he drove away any pestilence that dared attack the King's tawny pelt, as he unfortunately was submerged in the fact that while she had been nothing but honest with him so far he was hiding something form her. No, not really hiding per say. Just refraining from bringing it up. It wasn't anything big, or so he tried to tell himself. Just a sliver of his life he thought best to push into the depths of his mind and until now was doing very successfully.

She loved it when he smiled, it was beautiful, like watching the sun rise. She sighed softly as his mug explored her jaw, she was completely relaxed not bothering to respond to his words as they did not need an answer. They moved on, towards the canyons, but Karoleks sudden yield made her stop as well. Her ivory harks twisted as she listened for any sounds of danger, the only thing remotely dangerous was Karolek and his mischievous grin. She gave him a quizzical look, wondering what he was up to.Something had crept up her hind pillar, she stayed calm realizing it was merely the stag showing off, she let a small snort escape her vox, her eyes boring into him as he spoke. You have seen my abilities before, and this is just a mere reminder of my powers. I haven't seen you practice your abilities, though your earthen scent is strong. Mind the bluntness, but what can you do?
She smiled a small smile, closing her eyes for a moment as she thought about what she wanted to do. She concentrated. Every rock, pebble and boulder within a 50 yard radius lifted from the ground, levitating. She let them drop to the ground silently and shifted her concentration to the small pebbles around her, she lifted them around her and Karolek, letting them swirl into a circle, dancing around them. They fell like the others and she opened her eyes, gazing into his amber ones.
I am not nearly as powerful as you, but I can use my abilities and they get stronger each time I use them. Perhaps you can help me to learn more.
She dropped her gaze to the ground, concentrating again, a small lavender rose sprouted from the ground, blooming partially before retreating back to the ground. She raised her sights to him once more.
Now, forgive my bluntness, but you know all there is to know about me, yet I know very little of who you were before I came here. Tell me about your origins, how did you get here?

Occuli gazed downward, staring at the ground for no apparent reason before rising to focus on Atlanta once more. Her violot orbs spelled amusement at his actions clearly, which was supported by her snort. Comforted by the fact that she hadn't taken his words or actions in a bad light he watched eagerly as all rocken objects within a moderate span rouse from the ground and were suspended in mid-air. Defying the laws of gravity it was if they were connected with an invisible string to the heavens themselves. Though as his amber pools took in the sight and scanned his surroundings, in what seemed like only a single blink they fell back to the earth, as if they had never left the ground. Turning his crown back in the direction of his beloved dove he watched with a lopsided grin as a few stray pebbles scattered about her diamonds began to hover and than dance between them, twisting and turning through their stilts before dropping back to the ground as quickly as the others had.
"Of course, I'm sure your abilities will improve in no time," he voiced with confidence and took a step closer to her lithe frame. Plush started to reach toward her maw, aiming to just graze her velvets momentarily. Though when he was just inches away from her touch a sunflower suddenly sprouted and rose swiftly between them. Reigning in his crown he laughed softly and watched as the flower hesitated at the height of her maw before shooting up to tower above them. Not ready to send the lone flower back to the depths of the earth he merely sidestepped to avoid staring at the flowers stalk instead of Atlanta's crown. Her soft yet direct baritones caught his attention and he grimaced, smile completely wiped off his face as he sank his gaze downward. "Yes, I suppose that is quite true," he spoke in a low voice, almost mumbling but still clear enough to be heard.
"To answer your question directly, I could say I walked here, though I suppose that isn't exactly what you meant," he gave a half-hearted attempt to skirt the topic but knew that it was no use. Giving a light chuckle he rose his amber pools to meet her irises, trying to give off the impression that the subject didn't bother him in the least. Which was a lie to even himself. His past wasn't incredibly tragic or anything of the sort, he really didn't know why he always made a big deal out of it. Many had it much worse, like Atlanta. He doubted she really wanted to hear his pitiful history, most likely just making simple conversation. Though she would undoubtedly sense something was going on if he just continued to ignore her question. With a sigh he let his mind wander back to the days of his foalhood, becoming all-encompassed int it before focusing back on the present.
"I guess it would make the best sense to start at the beginning," he spoke lowly and took a deep breath within to steady his racing heart beat. This was no big deal..."I never knew my sire, though whenever I inquired to my mother who he was she always muttered a few strong curses and told me not to ask about such meager things. I'm not sure if even she knew who he was at first, see she was the kind that got around quite a bit, and I'm sure my birth was not intended. When I started to mature she'd always tell me in a disgusted tone that I looked exactly like my father, so I'm guessing he was not a very nice stag. We moved from herd to herd, going through them like water. I was always the outsider, the foal that didn't belong. But before I could start to complain we were on the move again," he took a pause before continuing on, considering just breaking out in laughter and telling her he was just joking.
"I watched as my mother was raped, abused and beaten to within an inch of her life with one stag. At that point I was already weaned and only remained with her because I knew of nothing else to do. She neither gave me attention nor drove me away, I was merely there. A constant annoyance to her. I was only a yearling at the point and when the barbaric stag commanded me to leave I did as he said. It was the only instruction anybody had given me in my life, and what was I to do anyway? Die along with my mother? So I ran. I learned just about everything I know from my days alone, keeping my social interaction with others at a minimal and that's when I discovered my abilities also. Though I was awfully horrible, barely able to lift a pebble without feeling as if my life force itself had been sucked out."
"Then when I reached my second year a wise old stag found me, a scraggly weak colt that knew nothing other then the necessities to remain alive. He took me in and taught me how to cultivate my powers and not be a complete social reject. Without him I'd probably be a crazy by now. I staid with him until he died and then I resumed my life of a wander, following the strong tug of my heart to this mystery place. Which led me to Nyore Valley and where I am now," he finally finished, letting out a big breath and trying to study her reaction. "Sorry it was so long, I could have condensed it...as nothing really was that important, I'm sorry for bothering you with it," he said nonchalantly, clouding his face with undecipherable calm and awaiting her reaction. He didn't want pity, because he didn't deserve it. His past was in all honesty not bad at all compared to so many. Yet it was lengthy and affected him a lot more then he wanted it to. That is why he buried it deep within the chasms of his skull, not letting the memories haunt him because he had much better things to worry about that were in the present and demanded his attention.

Thestones fell to the ground, and then he spoke. Of course, I'm sure your abilities will improve in no time, she nodded her dished dial once in understanding. Atlanta watched as her love reached out to her, things seemed to move more slowly until the sunflower appeared, she watched it sprout, then she watched Karoleks expression change drastically. She didn't back track however, it was a fair question though it hurt her to see him unhappy when just seconds ago he was all smiles.
Yes, I suppose that is quite true--To answer your question directly, I could say I walked here, though I suppose that isn't exactly what you meant, a small smile played at her kissers and a spark of amusment quickly glinted in her violet blue eyes, but she knew what he was trying to do and she wasn't going to let him back down.
She watched his eyes, seeing through his facade of nonchalance she searched deeper her harks moving as he spoke. I never knew my sire, though whenever I inquired to my mother who he was she always muttered a few strong curses and told me not to ask about such meager things. I'm not sure if even she knew who he was at first, see she was the kind that got around quite a bit, and I'm sure my birth was not intended. She kept her occs upon his, attempting to learn every detail of each emotion he was going through. Sorry it was so long, I could have condensed it...as nothing really was that important, I'm sorry for bothering you with it, she broke her trance for only a moment, she let herself sigh slightly out of frustration and slightly out of amusement. Her mind reeled for a moment longer before she returned her full attention to him.
Karolek, my love, why you choose to lie to yourself is your own personal issue that can be fixed, but lying to me, though unintentional I'm sure, is a bit hurtful, but to lie and say that your past is not important is foolish. All those things made you who you are today, they brought you here, to this very second, and to say that none of that matters is to say that this does not matter, that I do not matter. The past is the past, you can't run from it, its simply a trail we can look back on and learn from.
she let her being move to him, her boa arched over his withers, her maw moving in circles on his hide.
But perhaps fools can be kings, though this fool could never bother me
she smirked and nipped at his shoulder, she did not think him a fool, not in the least bit, she was joking in her own way, for the most part.
