¦lost 'til you're found¦
Rain had decided to continue to pour down all night, attempting to wash away all the blood and misery. Her warning words to refrain from sleep still lingered in Karolek's auds, though he only heeded them as crazed mumblings. If sleep would overcome him, then so be it. But panic had froze his body in place, any chance of sleep lost when she had collapsed into an unconscious heap. Sure, she might be a bit erratic but that didn't mean she was still like any other equine, a soul. Or so he pondered as he stood above Haunt, rainwater streaming down his ebony banner and dripping on the unconscious mare.
¦swim 'til you drown¦
Dawn came shortly, and with the new day the clouds rolled away revealing the drying rays of sunshine. His pelt reverted back it its original tawny coloring, though his ebony points were as black as ever. His stomach rumbled grumpily, craving for the luscious grass that resided above. Stilts carried him toward the path that led upward, though his thoughts still lingered with Haunt. He wanted to stay with her til she awoke, but his stomach just wouldn't allow such a thing.
¦know that we all fall down¦
When he reached the top his amber pools widened, taking in the beautiful sight. He marveled at how green everything seemed, the rain had certainly done its job well. Boa leaned earthward, letting his crown lower and ivories grab the emerald stalks savagely, trying to accomplish the petty task as quickly as possible. If he finished quick enough, he would still have enough time to make his way back to Haunt before she awoke.
¦love 'til you hate¦
He swished his whipcord in annoyance, snatching another mouthful of the grass and munching slowly. He knew his luck wouldn't be worth much, and he would do better savoring the taste of the substance than swallowing it whole as he had before. Though he still kept his auds perked, for he knew her would hear the familiar sound of daggers on the rockon path leading to the grassen plain above.
¦ljump 'til you break¦

Haunt Feels like I' ve lived forever...
Light tentatively crawled beneath her shut lid, her scarred side littered with knotted, damp silk. Her mind is what woke first, it reached out, feeling her body slowly, like one looking for light in the bitter black of the night. Where I’ am I? The voice in the empty darkness whispered, echoing with a uncertain tone. Her bod felt cold, stiff. And her parted maw let out a cracked groan as it flexed and bended, sorting it self out in a slow, smooth fashion. The sudden silence startled her, where was the rain? The rain that ever so constantly followed her? Her single grey orb opened to a slit, auds pricked forward and pillars fumbling to stand.
A steady grinding and clomping started and subsided as she struggled to find her stance and succeeded, bod shivering from the chill that lingered in her marrow. Her orb swiveled about, taking in the strange sight, an almost alien world to her. The rock about her that, last night had been stained with silvery beads now rested as a light, sandy brown an almost orangey tint to them. Her nares worked quickly, trying to sort out the scents, the wet scent of water gave her a headache, though other more pleasant scents lingered from a billowing heaven.
“The stallion…” she whispered, she herself was surprised that audible words could be formed by her weary maw, cracked with thirst and hunger. Her mind was still empty, emptier then usual. Or was it always like that? She shook her head, nothing made sense anymore, nothing seemed normal anymore. A sudden breeze brought down by whistling rocks and the faint swishing of grass told the mare that the stallion was not far off.
Letting her feet guide her she began to climb upwards, slowly and with hesitant steps for it seemed she had more control over herself thanks to last night. Last night, what had happened? The mare found it hard to remember that night. Her orb closed and her pillars ceased their motions, she tried to think back to that night. The first thing she remembered was rain, wasn’t it always? There was rock and water, herself and another. The stallion, what was his name again? She found she couldn’t remember it, no matter how hard she tried to. In fact, everything before the pain last night was a blur, a vividly, blurry memory. If that made sense.
Her daggers struck the ground in frustration, sending an almost chilling sound up from the stone. She started, surprised at the sound. She must’ve forgotten where she stood now, encased in rough, hewn rock. She shook her crown, muscles flexing as black silk dashed upon her coat’s rugged surface.
//OoC// Haha sorry I took so ridiculously long <3 The ending is abrupt but hey, it would take me even longer to write more and I couldn't seem to find the right thing to write xD

¦lost 'til you're found¦
The sound of another equines hoof beats creeped into his alert harks, making them swivel in the direction the noise originated from. Ivories remorsefully tore themselves away from the sweet grass, boa lifting itself upward in curiosity of the sound. Now another noise came out of the canyon, this one quite a more startling one. He flinched uncontrollably, amber orbs searching frantically. Then reality sunk past the surprisal and he realized it would only be the mysterious mare he had left unconscious on the canyon floor. How incredibly senseless of him. He snorted in disgust at himself, tassel attacking his hide savagely. Instinct now kicked in and his ebon stilts carried him swiftly tot he trail that had led him up here previously, muscles rippling lightly under his weight.
¦swim 'til you drown¦
Karolek's strides were even and steady, though his pace was of a more swift sort. Coal hued banner slid back and forth across his boa, something he might feel annoyed with if his attention wasn't completely focused on the possibility of finding the mystifying femme below. He felt the terra adjust from a soft cushioning grass to the feel of soil crunching beneath his daggers. He was now at the start of the path that spiraled downward into the canyon, his frame standing at the very edge. Irises peered downward in search of Haunt, and they found her stationary silhouette quickly. Relief flooded through his worried veins, for she seemed to be quite well. Though there were still obvious visible signs of her turmoil yesternight.
¦know that we all fall down¦
"Good morning," he greeted her, lanterns peering skyward to make sure his address was correct. And so it was, for the sun was still high in the blue yonder though not quite centered as of yet. He had so many more questions to ask, but he didn't wish to be intrusive. In addition he wasn't quite sure how to thread his words properly, something he had a problem with frequently. So instead he chose silence, no matter how dreaded it was.

Haunt Feels like I' ve lived forever...
The sound of a steady beat reached Haunt’s auds, but it took her mind a moment to register what they could be. Danger? The mare shook her head, the sound couldn’t be of any predator she knew. But before she could think another word she heard the trickling smack of rock on rock as tiny pebbles and chips rolled down the smooth, seemingly silky sides of the canyon. Her crown lifted, grey orb searching the exceedingly bright morning for the cause of this. The form of another, familiar equine stood there background bathed with light from the near cloudless sky. Her orb strained to make it out clearer, it’s grey depths narrowing considerably.
It wasn’t till he spoke that Haunt could figure out who it was, for the wind had died down, unable to give her forgetful mind a fresh scent to ponder on. “M-morning” she stuttered slightly, but her voice grew in volume and quality as her lyrics ended, and she began some more. “I guess I’ve caused you trouble?” though she couldn’t really quite remember what took place last night, she had learned from experience that something usually happened when she ran into another. And it wasn’t usually a good memory to the one who at that time was with her, at least they had more trouble then her who usually had her own difficulties remembering what had even happened.
She remained quiet for a moment, though she wasn’t thinking, or wondering if he was going to say anything. No, she was trying to reach something she felt had slipped past her. The feeling had started to tug at her, as if something had grabbed hold of her auds, or maybe her whipcord and was straining on it furiously, though they both remained still, and nothing could be felt near her. Other then the stallion of course.
Her gaze flickered to the path that separated her from the ground below, the ground that she had woken upon, and a steep slope that fell down to no doubt a terrifying death, rushed off not far from where she had been lying. Something, gagged inside of her. “What, happened last night?” She asked tentatively, wondering if the stallion would give a readable expression. Surprise maybe? But that could mean other things, surprise that she didn’t remember or that well, that was basically it. What was with her today? Everything was muddled, maybe it was the heat? Lack of food, water? Maybe just everything she had been through, or something she didn’t even remember?
//OoC// Haha a little hard to follow, guess my mind was muddled as well as hers xD

¦lost 'til you're found¦
The moments slipped by slowly, just as the few stray wispy clouds above did. Silence was easy to endure, it was what came after the silence that was hard. You never knew what to expect, and then you were expected to come up a reply on a whim. He wasn't a whimsical stallion, he preferred to plan things out beforehand. Being prepared was always nice too, but that was even harder then thinking of words to spill. Thoughts tangled themselves within his crown, making him wish he was more spontaneous. But he was who he was, and there was no changing himself now. A King couldn't doubt himself, a King doesn't have any weaknesses, or visible ones however. Put on a strong face and all will be fine...
¦swim 'til you drown¦
Amber pools concentrated on a pebble below him, threatening to go over the edge. Without even thinking he forced it over the edge and watched as it ricocheted off the canyon wall and fell to the bottom, which even in the clear of day you could barely see. Karolek now adverted his attention back to the still dusty and bloodstained femme as she sung her lyrics. The greeting was to be expected, but the latter words weren't what he had thought would come out of her maw. Still, he kept his cool and merely stared at her with inquisitive eyes.
¦know that we all fall down¦
"Excitement, yes. Worriment, yes. Trouble, no," he responded with a slight chuckle. The night before was interesting to put it in words. But he would consider her trouble. Between sane equines there was always a reason to any strange actions taken by them. There was a reason for her behavior, that he was sure. He would have loved to know more but before his mind could wander on how to ask such questions she spoke again. Her careful words were laced with uncertainty, as if she didn't know if she wished to speak them.
¦love 'til you hate¦
Ebon stilts carried him away from the precarious canyon edge and down the path that she now stood upon. He was much closer to her wary frame now, and upon his facade was confusion. Yes he was surprised, even worried. But for now the resident emotion was confusion. How could she not remember her dangerous slide to almost certain death on this same trail they stood on? "Uhhhhh," he stuttered, not wanting silence to close on them again but not being able to grasp the right words.
¦fight 'til you break¦
"You spooked, or something of that sort. Then you must have stumbled and slid down the canyon before I caught up to you. I stopped your descent but then you fell unconscious," he explained, words surprisingly coming out of his maw quite easily. They were not the fancy well-spoken ones he would have hoped for, but rather direct and to the point. But her question wasn't lengthy either, so in his mind all was fine. Except for the fact that she didn't remember a thing that had happened last night, of course.
¦know that we all fall down¦

Haunt Feels like I've lived forever...
Her nares worked softly. The dry, dust covered scents around her mingled together, creating a mere blank image of difference within her. This place was different, very different from where she had ever travelled her body told her. Even the way the air moved in here, the way noises echoed off everything was different. Her orbs snapped upwards suddenly, her full attention to the form that now spoke and though she heard the lyrics that spilled from him, she couldn’t quiet understand. She had caused him excitement? And worriment? Her orb turned away from him, brow angled inwards as she thought silently.
“Is it not troublesome to worry?” she asked, though her lyrics where a mere whisper. Hardly audible. “Specially about a stranger-” the sound of hooves upon stone made her attention shift away from her own thoughts and confused questions. Her orb widened as she saw the stallion coming towards her, his obvious confusion flickering through her like a searchlight. And she vaguely heard his stuttered sound, her auds flicked in wonder at it. What does he mean by that?
But her mind ignored her simple question as he started to speak, understandable words once more. So, it seems ‘that’ must have happened…Her ebony silk slipped about her delicate crown, its long, winding streaks tickling her nares. She hardly noticed this however as she looked to the stallion once more, her orb stared at him with an unreadable expression. Though, it wasn’t an unpleasant look that flooded from her.
“It-It was raining last night…Wasn’t it?” her voice was soft, though its tone was that full of sorrow. “You know, I’m scared of the rain” her orb fell to the earth, unable to hold a gaze. “I’m scared of water. A substance that gives me life…” Her grey orb closed, and her legs shook slightly. As if terrified of something she was about to voice. “So, is it that…I’m really just scared of having to live?” she took a breath, and with her wavering exhale she spoke one last time. “Is that possible?”
//OoC// Meep! Sorry about taking so long xD Kinda weird post, just some random stuff that came into my head <3

¦lost 'til you're found¦
A swish of tangled strands against his dusty flank seemed to be the only movement of the tawny stag. His venture to stride closer to the mysterious mare now over, as he stood patiently beside her awaiting any lyrics she might speak. The canyon seemed eerily quiet, especially for the fact that even the smallest of noises echoed harshly off the tanned walls. Or maybe it was just that the new King had his full intention on the mare before him, harks not adverting from their intent perked position atop his crown.
Long awaited words were spoken, though they were only met with comprehension on the mere fact he was listening so intently to her. For if he wasn't her whispers would have gone unheard, though had she meant them to be that way? Needless questions, so instead of replying he only nodded in understanding. For she was true in her assumptions, and that was one of his weaknesses. He cared too much, to an extent where he would lie to comfort them, yes even a complete stranger. That was Karolek, the same one that will stay in comfortable silence one more then babble on like only an idiot would the next.
At least he wasn't cursed with being naive, that was something that you never overcame. An inability to thread words correctly was to be fixed in time, and as of yet his nature of caring too much hadn't got him in trouble. But these thoughts were broken when she started speaking again, his attention once again all on her. He marveled at how he even got lost in his thoughts, a thing he didn't think of himself to do often.
Maw opened to confirm that it was in fact raining the previous night, though her words continued before he had the chance to respond. Though that far from upset him, just another sentence that he didn't have to regret later. Scared of the rain? he pondered as he registered those words. Scared of water? his thoughts continued. Only a moment ago he had been chastising himself for his faults, yet here she was freely sharing hers. No doubt he hadn't heard of this particular fear before, but that was no reason to act any different. If anything he was grateful for the reason she ran off so suddenly, he didn't have to constantly rehash the events and see if it was his fault in any way.
"No," he answered simply to her frantic questions. He scolded himself internally, just a few moments ago he had been so intent on her, and then the moment he got lost in his internal dealings was the moment that she needed his attention. Though he knew getting worked up as he was wasn't helping the situation either. So banishing any more inward dealings and ponderings of himself he once more focused on Haunt. "That would be as far from the truth as you can get," he offered, trying to comfort her to best extent that he could [A total stranger]. "It's normal to be afraid..." he continued absentmindedly, though still watching her steadily with a keen interest as to her response.
[This is an insanely crappy post *specifically the end*...I just wanted to finish it so you can respond, then I can respond with a GOOD post. I swear, next post will be a thousand times better. Right now me + Karo aren't communicating and my posts with him are horrible -.-]

Haunt Feels like I've lived forever...
“Normal…Yes” Those where the only words that Haunt let slip from her maw, crown dipped to her chest as they vibrated through her. Her silks ran across her pelt quietly, as if the words had echoed off the canon walls just a little to loud, and they didn’t want to bring any attention to her rugged bod. Like a guilty foal, one that maybe had just disobeyed their mother. Or maybe nipped a fellow foal and awaited a stern word from lips of a loved one.
The breeze gave a sudden burst of strength, it’s trailing fingers griping the edge of her nares as she breathed slowly, though her heart raced like that of fleeing prey from a beast’s jaws. Life in it’s last moments, things racing in and out of your view, and maybe you can even hear the last flutter of your own heart as those claws tore through you… Her orb lifted from the earth, in its depths rested now blanketed emotions, and an untouchable soul or so she hoped. She didn’t want to feel pain again, not pain by another of her kind.
“Troubling you with such things, I feel I must apologise” Her maw gave a soft smile, though it seemed to be hacked out of her crown. A show of forced emotion, a cloak of what she really felt. Humor this time, maybe? Though as the plague of silence began after her lyrics she gave another smile, this one nervous. “I know I must sound rude, but. May I ask you of your calling?” Her shoulder twitched, her auds lying low over her crown. “I don’t recall it…”
The canyons grew silent, their whispery voices now unable to continue the echoes of their prisoners lyrics. Her vibrant auds twitched, how she found this place so…Unknown. It seemed able to hold secrets, or maybe it was just the feeling of reserve she found as she stood surround here. They were unchanging, those walls that lay here. Never faltering in the way they stood, ledges rising forlornly towards the sky, though to their great sorrow they could never reach the clouds. Those areas of such pure, seemingly carefree existence.
She found herself drawn to this place, it seemed a lot like her. Standing alone in a bustling world, though they held their ground, seeming to defy such a rapidly changing world…
//OoC// YAYS! I have thy muse! XD...Haha not really :3

¦lost 'til you're found¦
The moments ticked by slowly, though the stallion still held his attention on the mare that stood before him. He wasn’t about to lose himself to inner turmoil once again, his problems were mere thoughts compared to what he assumed this mare was going through. Though the expression he read on her face was conveying the opposite to him. As if she had no worries, no troubles. That she hadn’t just broke down a moment ago, her legs quivering beyond control. Karolek was many things, but he wasn’t a fool. And he could easily tell that her outer shell was fake, nothing but a polite façade so she wouldn’t bother him anymore. He still saw through though, whether that was her intention or not. The moment he saw her he knew she was different, that she had something hidden beneath all her layers of disguise. And once he judges someone, he rarely thinks otherwise of them. A forced smile wasn’t about to dissuade him for him assumptions.
¦swim 'til you drown¦
A brisk breeze wafted down the canyon, sending a welcome relief to the sun that sent its heated rays down on the two equines hides. The earth King would have relished this much needed alleviation to the sweltering heat, though the mare choose this moment to speak more words and he didn’t want to advert any focus from her. One hark twitched backward upon hearing her verses, a flicker or irritation visible if one perceived closely. There was no need to apologize, and he started to open his still maw to voice those thoughts when she spoke again. That in itself was not surprising, she seemed to find conversing not a feat at all unlike himself. But the exact words that she uttered was enough of a surprise to send him spiraling back into his thoughts to take it in. Though deep inside he almost expected something like this, after all she didn’t remember last night at all so why would she remember something as unimportant as his name?
¦know that we all fall down¦
“Karolek,” he responded simply after a moment’s hesitation, trying to conceal any surprise that seemed almost eminent to appear on his mask. Then silence fell between them again, something so inevitable yet still awkward at times. Which was odd, for Karolek rarely disliked silence. In fact it wasn’t an odd day when he welcomed it, though today was most definitely different. The silence fell harshly on him, making such a simple movement like blinking uncomfortable in the least. The sudden movement of a bird darting out of a small crevice from the tangerine walls that enclosed them brought him swiftly out of his daze. Amber pools of light following its flight to the blue yonder above, then wandering back to the mare while pondering if he should speak a few words or not. “Does this happen frequently?” he ventured to ask, though carefully keeping his tone level and clam. “The forgetting that is…” he furthered, crown tilting ever so slightly to the side in innocent curiosity. He didn’t need to offend or bring back memories that were best kept forgotten, he was just trying to keep a conversation alive…and the curiosity that was ever growing was yearning for more information about this mysterious mare.

Haunt Feels like I've lived forever...
Surprise was the feeling that lingered as Karolek spoke, a question rather then silence on his part. Again Haunt felt she must apologize to him, though this time she didn’t outwardly voice it. She was talking to much it seemed, and he had just patiently listened and comforted her for every string of nervous or fearful lyrics. Haunt turned her orb to his own amber lanterns, though they seemed to be concentrating on a seemingly empty sky, that is until they rested back onto her form.
Her own orb turned upward, boa stretching as she searched the cloudless sea, though instead of dark depths it radiated with an almost painful light, and her grey orb had to narrow its vision in response. Auds perked forward as the tiny form cleared, now visible from the blurry mixture of blue. A bird flew steadily father from the defined canyon walls, and though its form was of now a mere speck Haunt could imagine its fragile body, emotionless eyes, and maybe the first sparks of anticipation as it flew, free from the earthbound creatures from below.
Her mind shifted back to earth, and her own chained destiny as she lowered her crown, the curtain over her orb flickered, revealing a thoughtful gaze. “Yes. It usually happens” Her bod was stiff still from the damp chill of the now far off night and her pillars yearned to move. So she allowed them their wish, turning slightly so she could face the stallion with a clearer gaze, he was close now, and their pelts skimmed as she gave her battered body the order. She once again turned to look at him, now shoulder to shoulder. “Though, only after it rains.” Meaning flashed beneath her words, though it was understood by her alone, the rain was everything, and it seemed to mold her world around her, though never to the way she thought.
//OoC// Bah! Bad post but whatever, I like it! XD

¦lost 'til you're found¦
There were no movements, no sounds, no scents and oddly enough no thoughts that were swirling around in the golden stag’s usually crowded skull. It was so calm and serene, almost unnaturally so. Though he merely blamed this upon his current heightened senses that were so intent on focusing on the abstruse mare, but he couldn’t help but wonder if there was a reason to this odd silence. They always said there was to be calm before a storm hits, and so he couldn’t help but pull away a bit from Haunt and deliver his attention to the seemingly pleasant surroundings. He surveyed the land with well-trained orbs for anything out of the ordinary, but found no such thing and his irises wandered back to the femme of a similar hue. With no storm or danger to worry about he let out an almost silent relieved sigh and shifted his weight to his other side in effort to relax more.
¦swim 'til you drown¦
“Hm, that’s interesting…” he thought aloud, finally responding to the peculiar comment of hers. The rain washes away many things, blood, dirt, and pain. But he had never heard of it washing away memories, and this was something that had begun to consume him in deep thought. Though the slight movement of the vixen brought him back to reality as their hides slid against each other, making him feel as if they friction had sent a jolt of electricity through his torso. Though he knew that was not physically possible and it was only his brain playing tricks on him. Nevertheless he didn’t budge, not even an unintentionally twitch was to be felt between the two.
¦know that we all fall down¦
“I suppose spring isn’t exactly your favorite season then?” he mentioned due to the fact of the abundant rain, good-meaning humor evident in his amusing tone. He knew those words and her fears were not to be taken lightly, not many things were. Seriousness is a disease that affects even the best, and he frequently let it take advantage of him. But for this moment, while the sun was still high in the sky and birds spontaneously broke out into song, he would joke. He would pretend like last night, and even the few awkward moments that had experienced this morning never happened. Because if he dwelt on it too long, it would only end with him asking more questions, ones that most likely she didn’t want to answer. Or maybe…she didn’t even know.

Haunt Feels like I've lived forever...
Haunt felt no need to answer to his first set of lyrics, it being only a personal comment of the situation. Her silk felt heavy under the heat brimming sun, and she lowered her head, letting it run over her boa in a subtle effort to rid herself of the heat, though it did little good. Her orb sparkled momentarily with good-nature joked, indeed, Spring was a troublesome time, rain ever constant upon the earth. Though it was also a rewarding time, giving the land new reason to sprout back up from the cold, death riddled winter. It gave life, something so precious to everyone and everything.
“Karolek” Her boa lifted in realisation. Something had popped into her mind, something she thought this stallion might understand, even if he didn’t like it. “Come with me, I want to show you something” She gave a final glance at his amber orbs before setting off at an unsteady pace up the slope, her bod still a little weak, even with her unknown hours of rest the previous night. She was determined as of now, there where certain things she had never forgotten, no matter how many times she woke with that same feeling of confusion, and eventually the knowledge that she had forgotten something, forgotten a lot of something to the depths of her mind.
Her breathing was laboured now as she continued up the steep path, though she hardly noticed this herself as she ploughed forward, her usually so wise daggers occasionally slipping on lose rubble and over stepping herself. Thankfully the path was becoming wider now so it didn’t bring her such a danger as before, though it still slowed her considerably. But all that was forgotten as she, breathing hard and slightly light headed arrived at the top of the canyon wall. What lay before her now was a simple, yet beautiful sight to her eye. What would have been tender shoots of delicate greens now lay thick and healthy beside her mud crusted daggers, heated by the sun as nothing cut its gaze up here.
She began to walk forward once again, and the feeling of hard, rough rock was replaced by the refreshing caress of soft, flora. She stopped, now a good distance within the feild of greens. She stood there, waiting until her breathing regulated, taking the time to study the surrounding area, though it all looked pretty much the same to her slate-grey orb. Her auds twitched, hearing the faint calls of birds, and the rustling of feathers as they took off, it echoed up from the earthy canyons below, though up here Haunt felt a little more at home. Those many walls were intimidating, and the thought of being lost in them gave her shivers down her spine. Now…Haunt turned back, her orb searching for Karolek…

¦lost 'til you're found¦
The voice of the canyon was alive again, and for this the golden stag was quite thankful for. The silence experienced before was unnerving, and he enjoyed being lost in the noise of mother nature. The soft sound of a snakes body slithering against the rocky flooring was heard, along with a whisp of breeze fluttering about within walls. Harks flickered, trying not to miss even a single noise while still concentrating on the mare so close, though she remained silent for now. Was she too welcoming the sounds of life once again blooming? If only the grass growing greener and trees sprouting leaves was an audible thing to be heard, though he had eyes for that and they too welcomed the sight. Though in not too much time Spring would leave them and the sweltering heat of Summer would begin, something that was beautiful in its own way...yet hard to endure after some time.
¦swim 'til you drown¦
The sound of his name surprised him somewhat, he didn't expect her to use it even though he had given it only moments ago. But the verses that come after that were even more curious, nevertheless as Haunt looked back at him for reassurance of his following he merely nodded and continued after her. Karolek wasn't use to being led somewhere, usually he was the one to do the leading. And his curiousity peaked when he wondered what exactly could she be wanting to show him, she had only been in the land for a day while he lived here and knew every crevice and cavern there were. Yet she wasn't leading him down the canyon, she was leading him back up where had been previously. Where green was abundant and tasteful.
¦know that we all fall down¦
Golden orbs focused closely on her, watching helplessly as she stumbled on a few misplaced pebbles here and there. He pushed the culprits aside, letting them drop to into oblivion. But they were now at the top, the path widening to lead to the opening of the plains above. He slowed his pace, allowing her to reach the top a few moments before he did. It was hard to conceal her labored breathing, and he had heard it well. The various paths were steep and intimidating, most definitely not something to be taken lightly. Though you grew accustom to the life, and he had walked the paths many times since his claiming it. A small trip to the top was nothing to put him out of breath, but the femme had much reason to be tired. She wasn't yet accustom to this way of life, let alone the trail she had gone through the previous night.
¦love 'til you hate¦
Ebon pistons strode once again though, muscles flexing at his long strides that brought him beside the mare quickly. He watched as she took the sight in, and the sight was quite beautiful indeed. The sounds were nothing to be ignored either, all the various noises were amplified here as it was the originator. Normal animals didn't crave the enclosed walls of a canyon, but preferred the wide open space of the plain above. He couldn't quite blame them, but he himself felt almost out of place. This was his terra too, but he quite often preferred the small spaces and confinement of the canyon walls. Out here he felt almost exposed, though not enough to make him uncomfortable. Just a small tug felt faintly inside him.

He raised his crown unexpectedly, letting his jowls open and emit a soft neigh. Not that he wasn't sure the mare already knew of his presence, he was right beside her after all. He just felt the need, an instinctual action he could not retract. He pondered if he should await her lyrics or just spill his own first, and decided he had remained silent too long already. Even if they came out as a jumbled mess, he was sure she wouldn't take it as offensive. "Was this what you meant to show me?" he asked softly just above a whisper. He felt as if he had spoke loudly it would disturb the blissful peace that surrounded them. Although he was still curious as to her intent. Yes, this was most definitely beautiful. But what was the point exactly? He supposed he would find out soon enough.

Haunt Felt like I've lived forever...
Haunt was reassured at his presence as she felt the tug of moving air beside her barrel, and the swishing of green stalks at his footfalls. She could feel his gaze upon her and she flicked a vibrant aud in response, the knowledge of him allowing her to show this to him comforting, more like what she was about to show him though. She turned to him slightly, crown lowering as her nares gently swept the delicate stalks. Her life force exhaling along their soft tips and causing them to shiver with anticipation.
At his lyrics her orb closed momentarily, and she let out a calming sigh, before raising her silk covered crown. “No” she murmured, turning to him. “Not yet at least. Its something I could do for all my life, however small and insignificant it may be.” Her lyrics ended in a quiet rush of air from sighing whipcords as a breeze picked up, sending her tassels bubbling softly against her powerful boa. Her orb remained fixed upon his for a mere second before drifting back to the landscape, eyes seeming to soften somewhat.
Nearly invisible against the already deep green of flora, small winding tendrils had began to sprout from within the earth. The hot, drying ground seemed to try and hold back the small life forces, ever determined in their climb to the sun and growth. “I was hoping you could explain to me, why I can do this.” She herself didn’t wish to talk, not wanting to disturb the rapidly changing scene before her. To her it wanted silence in its climb, and the action of talking seemed to hash a thing to do as her grey orb watched them. Small, fragile buds began to form upon the stalks. Growing bigger and sprouting with sudden fury as the shapes began to look like what they were.
Flowers. Hundreds of them began to bloom, their petals reaching up to the sun’s rays, desperate to feed and grow, and live. Once again Haunt’s crown slipped to the earth, nares set above a single, juvenile bud. Losing the race as the others climbed about it on all sides, blocking the rays and leaving the trembling plant in shadow. A breath of air, sounding like hewn chimes left her maw, and in a sudden burst of life the plant rose steadily, climbing far above it’s brothers and sisters as its large, arrowhead leaves began to unfold and small, delicate petals lifting to the sun.
Nothingness ensued. The spell was over and Haunt found herself looking over the now flower filled field, the small spikes of grass only reaching their lowest boughs of fragile, green leaves. She gave one last, longing gaze upon the single flower, more radiant and successful then the rest, when it made first made its way through darkness. She had been like that flower, though a helping hand had ever reached out to her. Brought her to the sky, the sun, and life.

¦lost 'til you're found¦
The wind blew softly, caressing his silken tresses with an invisible hand. It blew auditory illusions into his alert harks, making it sound as if there were a whistling sound to be heard. But it was nothing, just the wind playing tricks on him. The femora spoke again, soft lyrics spiraling in the devious wind before slowly entering his auds. Curiosity momentarily rouse, his cranium rouse and turned in the direction of Haunt, letting her know it was looking at her. But her focus remained forward, and so with with inquisitive eyes he searched for what she was looking at.
¦swim 'til you drown¦
Karolek strained, though could still see nothing different in his surroundings. Suddenly his orbs caught sight of movement, on the greenery that they stood on. Flora started to emerge from the ground, struggling to overcome its opposition before spreading its petals and blooming in their full. First a couple, then a few more...after only a couple moments they covered the whole surrounding area. She spoke and he listened, though he could tell her words were strained. It was like she was in a state of awe and words would destroy her. But the verses she spoke were important, and although he barely had the capacity to comprehend them it threw him back into focus.
¦know that we all fall down¦
"I thought you knew..." he breathed lowly, but attention was diverted by movement from below the mare. It was a flower indeed, but it rouse up much higher then the rest. Petals and leaves expanded to reveal the beautiful sight, and then everything stopped. There were no movements or sound, only the two equines shallow breaths. His eyes drifted over the dun standing beside him, trying to form his words in the right way yet wishing he needn't speak at all.
¦love 'til you hate¦
The sun beat harshly on his back, beads of perspiration already forming and dying his pelt a darker color. If only there were shade to shield them from the harsh rays, though the plain above the canyon was mostly barren from them. That's when he thought of something, what if words weren't needed? A small sprout started to erupt from the ground a few paces away, struggling to overcome the dirt, grass and the new flowers. But with a burst of power it suddenly bursted outward, growing swiftly in height. Branches were soon formed, awkward limbs of the base that was still growing. Finally it stopped, it's height much above the two equines with arms sticking out wildly. Then green started to appear, leaves threading themselves around the branches until the tree was complete.
¦ljump 'til you break¦
He now stood in the shadows of shade, the large tree covering them with it's helpful protection. He looked over to Haunt, trying to gauge her reaction. He had used his powers the previous night with her, and thought she knew about him. About herself. He had known from the start she was an earth elemental, the smell was very distinguishable. Presuming was all he did, and presuming was what got him here. For she had forgotten everything. "We are both unique, not many have our abilities. We can bend the earth at will," he spoke still keeping his tone low as to not shock her too much. With these wise words a branch above the twisted down to about eye level of the two. "Nyore Valley is a haven for ones like us...ones that can bend the elements. And I am King of the Earth elementalists. I have yet to meet the rulers of the others," he tried to explain with patience. He had experienced ones that didn't know of their powers before, but he still found it hard to explain properly and only could hope she'd understand what he was striving to say.
