To all you talented graphics peeps, I have a question for you!
I only have enough money for one thing as of now, and I need to decide between a tablet or Photoshop. I found a Wacom Fun Bamboo Small tablet for $100 and Adobe Photoshop CS3 for $150.
I've been happy so far with GIMP, but I've hit a couple walls that are annoying me. First its a P.A.I.N. to even attempt to draw manes/tails. My only hope is to smudge them and that's hard if you want to change its look altogether [thus why I want a tablet]. Also YOU CAN'T ROTATE BRUSHES! What the heck? That has demolished all my appreciation for GIMP. haha. So what do you think I'll do better with first? I'm eventually going to buy both but...I'll need to save up again Dx.
Oh, and the tablet comes with Photoshop Elements 5.0. But it's the old version and I also heard it doesn't come with simple stuff like curves and color balance. Even dumb ol' GIMP has that x.x.
Opinions please!

Well hun, I have the Wacom Bamboo Tablet and it doesn't work as well on GIMP as it does on Photoshop. I would go for Photoshop then hold out on the tablet for a while. If I remember correctly GIMP lacks the pressure sensitivity.

Buy a tablet and download PS CS3 for free That's what I did Here's the link: www.mediafire.com/?y1xtglmgwmvIts free, safe, legal, and its works :3 Its only legal cause its called a "portable" version..no idea what that means.Apparently it lacks a few features of the full version CS3,but it works just the same.I luff it ;D
